afer13
Why is he in the rotation!?!? :banghead
Junior
It was one start
CapeFish
I wouldn't worry. If anything he can be abullpen man and we are done.
afer13
I agree that it's only one start. But the decision to have him in the rotation (a pitcher with no ceiling whatsoever) ahead of Johnson, Olsen, Nolasco (sp?) is beyond me.

knglover
Yeah, it is only one start but to be honest with you guys isn't it scary that after only one start.............. Brian Moehler in this start=Al Leiter of last year lets not make the same mistake and stick with hiom out of respect. Not sure I would give him another chance. lets let a young guy with some ceiling take his place that way if the same thing happens there is a better excuse. Boy, i know i am probably not going to be very popular with this comment but I just dont see the point in letting an old guy lose while gaining zilch when we have so many young guys that can lose while gaining experience. PBMarlin
He may not last long if he keeps pitching like he did tonight. :Smash
CanadianFishFan
I would be surprised if anyone thought he would be effective. Started the season the same way he ended last year. Even when he pitched "well" in terms of not letting in many runs, his OBA was extremely high. As a low budget team we have to suck up the fact we are gonna have lemons like him around. Sirspud
Let's give him a few more chances. I was in support of both him and mitre starting, even though I was in the minority. The season is plenty long enough that the young guys will get their shot. It's actually kinda nice that Johnson and Nolasco have gotten some oppurtunities without the pressure of starting. prinmemito
Nolasco should take over his spot in the rotation. I like JJ, too, but he's got control issues. We need a guy with above average stuff that can throw strikes.
FreshFish
Moe was serving meatballs tonight. But it is only one game
CYmarlins
i want him out the rotation also, nolaso or johnson takes that spot soon enough
PBMarlin
Moehler started off the season right where he left off in Spring Training. It appears he didn't prepare well going into Spring Training. Did he take too much for granted?

Admin
Better question: Why is he our number 3 starter? It should be Vargas!

BIG Z
The Man's nice and cool and all,but dammit do i hate it when he pitches..i always expect us to lose when he pitches
The_Godfather
My feeling on Moehler is that considering he started off pretty good last year and was bad down the stretch, the Marlins are hoping he starts off well this year again and then would have traded him with his high value for a prospect. Teams are always looking for pitching near the deadline and will overpay. Good plan...hope it works.
Lefty
I can't wait until Nolasco is put in the rotation in place of Moehler. I want this young pitching staff to succeed.
Guest Juanky
I wasn't in favor of him being in the rotation, but we should at least give him two more starts (including one at home) before we condemn him to Al Leiter status. I'm sure with the plethora of young arms craving a chance to play (including two starters sitting it on our pen) that Mo has a relatively short leash with Girardi. Das Texan
Moehler will be out of the rotation by May.  Then we can put him in the bullpen till he screws that up and gets red tagged.

He definitely will get at least one more start (Until Olsen is inserted in rotation set #3). After that, he'll be on a tight leash.
