August 10, 200619 yr yep, good job by the brits it sounds like. No more carry on for any flight ever again perhaps?
August 10, 200619 yr Author yep, good job by the brits it sounds like. No more carry on for any flight ever again perhaps? No more liquids to be brought on is likely...but carry on is still allowed by the TSA.
August 10, 200619 yr Right now the FAA is banning liquids or gels of any kind on flights. That's it for now. CNN is reporting that 21 or so suspects of Pakistani descent have been detained in the UK.
August 10, 200619 yr Scary stuff...glad they caught them though or at least it seems as though they caught them
August 10, 200619 yr Those f***ers.... I am so glad they caught them. I hope everyone who's flying today remains calm and stays safe.
August 10, 200619 yr of couse i'm flying today - had to repack and will now have to leave work an extra hour early - at least they were caught and everyone is safe
August 10, 200619 yr Smashing job by the British in foiling this plot. Hopefully flying isn't further screwed up permeantly because of this. As wrong as people think tortue is, I think it's perfectly fine to tortue these suspects to get every once of information out of them as possible.
August 10, 200619 yr f***, im going to aspen tomarrow from florida, i swear to god if one of those terrorists are on my plane you will hear about a 17 year old kid who went down fighting, im not even messing around I hate these f***ers with more passion then ive ever hated anyone before.
August 10, 200619 yr They also raised the Fear Level to "OMG, We're All Gonna Die!" Or in layman's terms, Red.
August 10, 200619 yr They also raised the Fear Level to "OMG, We're All Gonna Die!" Or in layman's terms, Red. Its only red for incomign flights from the UK, all other flights are at orange.
August 10, 200619 yr Those f***ers.... I am so glad they caught them. I hope everyone who's flying today remains calm and stays safe. My thoughts exactly.
August 10, 200619 yr CNN reports that the weapons would be assembled in flight and used over certain areas of the country. Death tolls would be in the high thousands. Would have been as bad if not worse than 9/11. We should all appreciate the great job GB did in apprehending what looks like all 21 suspects.
August 10, 200619 yr Is there anyone out there who thinks that terrorism and the fight against it are not going to be the dominant factor in all upcoming elections? If so I want you to brush this off,and tell us why it would not be. Any takers?

August 10, 200619 yr Actually it is worse than it seems , because even this close call will have a negative economic result.

August 10, 200619 yr It's a shame the hardwork of a cross border investigation, is being trivialized already, by people who already want to make this out as politics. People, were saved today, and you're using it for political gain? BTW, I love Al - Qaeda in their ultimate brilliance, are now resorting to plots that have failed them in the past. Most notable, Sheik Mohammad, tried this back in 95. Also, nice job by Pakistan, who's shown some weakness recently when it comes to fighting terror, most notably, having their backs turned to the Mumbai train bombings

Sorry i should have deleted it b4 anyone else posted
August 10, 200619 yr Iraq is going to be the number one issue this fall. It should have been the major issue in 2004, but the imminent threat of gay marriage was clearly more important.
August 10, 200619 yr No, Terrorism will and should be the #1 issue, most polls indicate that, in fact, Iraq in CNN's latest poll, Iraq is only the third most important issue to voters. Back on this terror plot, does anyone else think this is possibly just a smoke screen for something even bigger? I mean, Al Qaeda no longer has the lead in Global terrorism, in a world now dominated by Hezbollah, Hamas, and Sectarian Violence in Iraq. They need something big to take the flag against the western oppressors. So why do something that they've already failed at in the past. This is somewhat sinister, but I'm thinking they're trying to get the government focused on Aviation terrorism, while they're planning something in a different field. It's just a thought but something that needs to be focused on. BTW, I had my doubts, but much credit needs to go to Chertoff, and our friends in London, and Pakistan. This coopperation appears to have been lacking 5 years ago.
August 10, 200619 yr Sectarian violence is not terrorism, or at least not the international kind. Unfortunately our actions in Iraq have created a situation somehow worse than even during Saddam's rule, which I never would have guessed.
