May 25, 200323 yr many proposals have been thrown around, including adam dunn and any of a number of top prospects. Read throughout this thread and retain some of that knowledge. I pull the trigger if I am Beinfest and this deal is on the table... Castillo and Penny for Dunn and i pull it fast before Bowden would have second thoughts

May 25, 200323 yr pudge.... the reds do not need and/or want another outfielder. before considering your wild ideas....look at other teams and their rosters and then their needs. i think penny and castillo can get you dunn....maybe a fringe pitching prospect as well.... but that should do the job, due in large to the gaping hole at second and the gaping holes in the reds pitching staff.
May 25, 200323 yr What's up with the Jim Rome rip off - he is aggravating enough without having people copy his style! Anyway, Pudge, sorry man, but the deals you are making are more of a lateral kind - you seem to be swapping players rather than improving teams. The Expos and Red Sox wont make those deals because Castillo is not really going to improve those teams. Castillo makes more money than Walker, but Walker's style of play is more suited to AL and Boston's (wannabe A's) than Luis'. Vidro makes more money than Castillo, so that would be harder for us to pull off and I dont think the Expos want to give up Vidro for Castillo at this point. I would rather see Castillo dealt for some strong prospects if we had to trade him or package him with someone else (Penny?) to net a legit #4 hitter. But I dont see that happening either. A guy I would love to see on our team, and has been suggested, is Carlos Delgado. But that aint happening either...
