May 24, 200323 yr D.Lee has a better batting average than dunn has. :whistle Dunn has more homeruns and RBIs than DLee oh and actually knows what a clucth hit is plus can play first... :whistle hmm I think the Marlins should trade for Dunn and Guillen. :mischief2
May 24, 200323 yr Lee has better defense. :whistle Remember we have problems scoring runs and DLee is the problem.. even he admitted it :whistle
May 24, 200323 yr Author Lee has better defense. :whistle so what? for once, there was an actual intelligent thread... but i can see where this is going
May 24, 200323 yr I think the Reds and Marlins should be have a direct line ot each other. They have an abundant on what Marlins lack and the Marlins have what they need. Dunn & Guillen For Castillo & Penny
May 24, 200323 yr Author i hope you are joking minus..... i dont think they would do that DLee is 27 with 108 career HR... best season being 28 Dunn is 23 with 62 career HR...best season being 26 Adam Dunn is soooooo far ahead of DLee its not funny..... oh yea, Dunn walked 128 times last year
May 24, 200323 yr I like the sound of this future line up..... 1b Dunn 2b You tell me SS Sea bass 3b Lowell LF Guillen CF Pierre RF Encarnacion
May 24, 200323 yr Id rather have Cabs in LF Either way we can't go wrong.I hope the Marlins explore trading for Dunn.
May 24, 200323 yr Author Dunn k's to many times. :whistle if you know baseball.... you would know that Adam Dunn is a phenom... and that DLee is a #'s player..... on the surface, the #'s are good.... when you look at other stuff, it gets ugly
May 24, 200323 yr I think the Reds and Marlins should be have a direct line ot each other. They have an abundant on what Marlins lack and the Marlins have what they need. What the Marlins need? Please. The Marlins need starting pitching. Cincy is woefully short in that area. Assuming the best, that Redman and Beckett are back in short order, we still have a four man rotation. Duke (aka Brad Penny) is fat as a house and just gave up a two run homer as I write this, has lived off his promise way too long. Tejara is a complete bust-out, and Dontrelle, nice kid, big heart just doesn't belong here. So you have Redman, Beckett and Pavano. We need pitching, more pitching and more pitching if we want to save this season. And Cincy ain't got none. I'm of a mind that the problem with the offense is really the amount of energy exerted defending behind our pitching staff. Watching that one run lead disappear night after night or having to play catchup changes a players' mentality. As much as they need some more punch in their lineup, stabilizing a solid four man staff would do wonders for this team.
May 24, 200323 yr Dunn k's to many times. :whistle if you know baseball.... you would know that Adam Dunn is a phenom... and that DLee is a #'s player..... on the surface, the #'s are good.... when you look at other stuff, it gets ugly Thank you.......How many time does Sosa strikes out?Plus he is only 23 and can cut down on strikes out as he matures.

May 25, 200323 yr i wouldnt get Guillen ... 1 because he having a good year this year doesnt mean he might play like that rest of career. I'll try and trade Penny and Lee for Dunn and a pitcher or something.

May 25, 200323 yr Amid all the crap in this thread, courtsey of a couple idiots who contribute no real takes.... There are some interesting ideas thrown around. If the Reds are actually shopping Adam Dunn, you seriously explore the option of picking him up. As long as you are not including Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell who I think you would identify as your core right now, then you make any deal if you can pick up this kid. He is batting .230 now. So what. He also has an impressive number of homeruns and RBI. Adam Dunn has proven he can hit, his slump right now is an anolomy. If the Reds want to pick up Luis Castillo and Brad Penny for Adam Dunn straight up, you pull the trigger. Fast. This creates a short term problem in your pitching rotation, but with a shrewd move here and there you can find pitching that can get you through the year. There has to be a pitcher or two off the scrap heap you can get innings out of. You slide Andy Fox over to second and play him there for hte most part, give Mordacai some starts there, possibly call up Hooper. I dont think Medrano is really ready for the bigs, so you would be making a terrible mistake in calling him up right now. This team will not succeed long term with both Pierre and Castillo at the top of the order, they are too similar in their styles. The positive thing with Dunn is that he can play both outfield and first base. You teach A. Gonzalez and/or Stokes to do the same and you are in good shape. Hell you could even explore the possibilies of trading an Encarncion if you are really in that big of a need for pitching. Remember with Dunn you have that extra outfielder. If you are moving Cabrera to left field, which shoudl be done, you will need to move an outfielder anyway. While it woudl be a shame to lose Juan E.... Gaining Adam Dunn and a pitcher would be worth it.
