The thought struck me this morning when waiting for trafic to move a man behind me started to honk his horn like a maniac... Why was he honking? Didn't he see that trafic wasn't moving and him honking was not going to make it go? But then I saw his front plate... He was a Yankee fan. Of course!, I thought to myself, an obnoxious Yankee fan!

 

Truth is that Yankee fans are an obnoxious bunch and the team has no heart. It is all about winning at every cost, even if the spirit of baseball has to perish in that conquest.

 

But why are Yankee fans so obnoxious? Why do they treat everybody else in MLB like their peons? Why do they hate on their own players? Why do they think they own the stadium even when they're away from home? Why do they get drunk and pick fights for the hell of it? Why do they act like pigs?

 

Well, I think everybody knows why, because they are spoiled bratts. Spoiled bratts are the kind of people that get everything they want without any effort. I can't respect a fan that has never seen his team lose or have a "bad" year. Yankee fans aren't actually fans. They are people who like to like a team who wins a lot.

 

I was never a baseball fan, despite the fact that I lived in Yankee land for more than 6 years. I could never get myself to like the Yankees despite their winning streak and the groupie-collecting-cuties in the team. I could have been a die hard Yankee fan; all of my friends lived and breath by the Yankees, but the weird thing is that the only team that got me interested in baseball is the complete opposite of the Yankees.

 

I will not fall into the "Yankees Suck" category, because that slogan has brought really bad luck and shame to team like the Red Sox. One thing is sure though, their fans sure do suck!

 

I would love for the Marlins or another small market team to beat their asses once more. It would surely teach them some humbleness... I leave that in the hands of God. In Jack I trust! :thumbup

I don't mind fans of the opposing teams......to a certain extent. When they get stupid (like a lot of Yankee fans) and arrogant, then it's time to tell them to go take their crap somewhere else. A lot of Yankee fans (esp. here in S. Fla.) are bandwagon jumpers anyway (if they lived in NY or they have been fans since they were kids is another story). Unfortunately, I know a lot of obnoxious Yankee fans and when the WS was going this past October, they kept getting all up on my butt picking on me...thinking that the Yankees can never lose to a "loser" team. Well....who got the last laugh?

 

It's funny actually. When I was at Disney World, I saw Yankee fans left and right. I wore my Marlins t-shirt to Epcot and I got a couple of stares from them. I felt like saying, "Yea, this is the team who beat you in the World Series! And what!?" It's funny how I rarely saw someone in Marlins gear.

 

I don't know man. A lot of Yankee fans are stupid about their team. Hell, I know a guy who is a Mets fan yet he was rooting for the Yankees during the WS. That doesn't make much sense to me but whatever.

 

Let them be the "big dogs" and we can stay being the underdogs. I like it this way anyway.

By the way, a lot of Cubs fans aren't so innocent either. Look at how they treated Bartman. I know plenty of them and they are the most stupidest people I have ever met. Hell, I dated one.

Put me in the Yankees Suck category. When I went to Fenway I joined in the chant and bought a shirt that says Yankees suck.

I'll admit it was fun to chant "Yankees Suck!" during the world series. I remember there were several Yankee fans sitting behind us and got pissed every time we chant it. One of them even asked me "why do you hate on the oldest most respected Baseball team?" and I just laughed...

I give them props for being the oldest team and all, but some of their players need a new personality. :thumbdown

So stop your b***hing. The Yankees during the 80s probably topped your attendance annualy. I don't think marlins fans are any less spoiled, they only won 2 out of the last 7 world series. TWO. This is not to say that many yankee fans aren't selfish morons. As many of you know, I'm against the high yankee payroll, but not because it is "inequitable", but because it is inefficient, stupid, and brainless. Good teams can be developed for WAY less money.

 

That being said, a Yankee fan is a better fan of his team than a Marlins fan. When you guys start having some attendance, come back to me.

First and foremost. You may want to belittle the Marlins fans as much as you want, but your statements have no base. Do you even know what the attendance was for the 1997 team? No, I guess you don't. Marlins fans are constantly ripped for being "unsuportive" but I think this is unfair. This is a very young team and our fan base can't be compared to the Cubs or Red Sox, who have been around for more than two decades. When the team was starting to build a decent fan base and won the World Series, do you know what happened? They dismantled the team and broke the hearts of thousands of people who just didn't have it in them to believe in baseball again after that. So when I hear the "Miami fans suck" I just say "f*** you!" see if you would like your team dismantled.

 

For your information, Attendance doubled since last season and if the owners don't betray us like in the past, we will probably triple it next year... So good luck with your Yankees.
