I don't know if its age or lack of physical upkeep but he looked like a mediocre pitcher his last time out. I am now the equivelant of the "SI Cover Jinx" to fantasy baseball. April 16, 200422 yr I agree...... A high 80's heater and a low 80's variety of off speed stuff just doesn't work. I mean, he threw a 71 MPH pitch last night.....UGH that is bad. Barring a miraculous regaining of velocity (aka steroids) Pedro is pretty much finished.

Not to mention the fact that hes trying to compensate for his lack of velocity by using a higher leg kick, allowing people to steal all over him.

That being said pedro will still be good, he just won't be pedro. He probably needs another shoulder surgery. I don't know how useful a 6 inning starter who will miss a quarter of the season is going to be, even if it is pedro.

Pedro seems to be getting a curse, one that makes him think he's a bad pitcher and puts pressure on him, then he worries that he won't be able to hit the spot he needs to and, well, he doesn't. Pedro needs either to stop worrying and just play, or to get surgery so he can play well. Pedro might evem need to find another position and play there instead of being a pitcher.
