April 18, 200422 yr I thought Niner swung the bat rather well today. Obviously, you can't judge on one game, but he looks to me like he's on the verge of busting out. Agreed
April 18, 200422 yr Didnt he have one hit? And that one hit was a "seeing eye" single? I didnt get to see the game, but did he hit some liners?
April 18, 200422 yr Yes, I don't think he K'd, he worked the counts, and he had a seeing-eye single through the third short hole on the left side of the field.
April 18, 200422 yr Didnt he have one hit? And that one hit was a "seeing eye" single? I didnt get to see the game, but did he hit some liners? Yeah, it was a seeing eye single, but he also ripped a ball down the 3B line that was robbed. He was putting good swings on the ball.
April 18, 200422 yr 2. Derrek Lee is an below average offensive 1b, and A Great Defensive 1b. I would say Lee is at least an average offensive 1B. He's hardly below average. I'm not mad he's gone and I like Choi a lot, I'm just saying I don't think you can classify him as below average. i mean, below average? come on, he puts up very gsolid numbers.... but id rather have Choi

Compared to All of the 1b that are out there, He is below average. 31 HRs that if it were me i would be ashamed of because 15 or so did not matter and were hit during non-critical times. Look at Jim Thome, 47 Hrs, Low batting average, but those homeruns sure carried his team and kept them alive in the wild card race for some time

What a lame statement so full of generalization I'm not going to even prove you wrong.

April 18, 200422 yr Castro + Redmond > Pudge As much as I didnt agree on getting pudge last year, and blah blah ... and getting rid of him for being expensive and blah blah there is NO WAY in this earth that Redmond + Castro are better than Pudge ... not in one aspect of the game ohh yeah maybe money wise ... besidest that, theres nothing. ( Redmond + castro ) X 4 = Pudge yeah Castro might equal the offensive production of Pudge number wise ... but hes not gonna have a .375 avg with MISP... and none of those two have the defensive qualities that Pudge had (even though, the man had a sub-par defensive year)
April 18, 200422 yr Ya know, nothing Aubrey Huff did in Tampa really mattered last year. They'd have been last place if he didn't play too. So, he's below average. Worst. Comparison. Ever. I rule.

That was awesome. Almost as awesome as when they beaned Lawton next time up. And that was almost as awesome as when Lawton homered again next time up after that. Good times.

April 18, 200422 yr haha ... Aubrey Huff sucks ....... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight None of his stats came in situations that mattered dood. I wouldn't want him on my team. :plain

Its not his fault the pitching sucked ass and the rest of the team didnt put more effort in it At least hes clutch. Yes and i do believe that clutch hitting is an ability. Without we wouldnt have won the WS

Without we wouldnt have won the WS That's why I added "Worst. Comparison. Ever." because I was just being ignorant for kicks. And Tampa didn't lose because of a lack of effort, it was a lack of talent.

People with short memories tend to forget this fact. Ramon had a clutch bomb today, didn't he? Despite his horrendous base running, Red came up with some knocks to set things up. They won't have huge RBI totals because that isn't there role, but Pudge hit in the 3 slot most of the year and had pretty bad RBI totals for that spot. Mark it down. Ramon will catch fire, and everyone will forget Pudge. Oh btw, all of one person has managed to steal bases off our tandem this year, Furcal. And that was with the weaker armed of the two catchers in there.
