The Dolphins (via NFL deal) and the Marlins (thanks to PAX) are the only SoFla team's that air games over the air. April 19, 200422 yr Author 1st of all...... im die hard fan of all teams down here Xcept the panthers i cant stand hockey..... as 4 da NBA i been to 7 games this year.....both games with the hornets to watch da Baron...... the Nugget game both Knick games..... a kings game and a hawks game...... and i have a Wade, T.mac , melo and Lamar Odom wit da clippers jersey and 4 baseball..... i know 4 a fact i been to way mo games than you sinc e95...... as 4 cabel... not all of us get it...... and cape i have dish..... probelm is its the other dish with the international chanels i have tried to get the reg chanels... its all good..... ill be in college in August..... dormz have cabel... but my point is valid...... Ratings are down..... i dunno how they are on ESPN.....but damn all the playoff games last night were on cabel......
April 19, 200422 yr NBC was tight. They had playoff tripleheaders unlike ABC, they only manage to show one playoff game so far. NBC had the ASG and the Western Conference Finals...now it's on TNT. Which ratings will go down. Playoff games were never on NBA TV. They were either on TBS or TNT. Alot of people, I know, will pick NBC over ABC.

Everyone's all trying to be in your face, attention-grabbing, yelling, etc. And the "analyses" go on for SOOOO long in that stupid Times Square studio. TNT is awesome. The commentators are charming but forgettable. The anchors say what they have to say and that's that. Perfect.

April 19, 200422 yr tnt is by far the best basketball coverage in the past 20 years. NBC sucked toward the end of their time with the NBA. ESPN would give you another cable outlet..... but ABC rarely airs games. there is a reason games are no longer on NBC. They got outbid. Ratings were decreasing on NBC as well....its not like this is a new deal. What do you expect when the NBA really only markets 5 teams.

More if the games are not picked up by ABC, ESPN or TNT. All of the games should be on TV next year between the 4 outlets. Telemundo will still have the NBA package in Spanish, but that is only like 1 game a year.

April 19, 200422 yr remember, the NBA has always showed the majority of its games on basic cable the only difference in this TV contract is that they went from TBS to ESPN and NBC to ABC besides, now they show the REAL NBA finals (western finals) on the best NBA network of all (TNT). all in all, i like the new deal also: once costas left NBA on NBC, it went downhill and was never the same

The deal also brings NBA Inside Stuff to ABC on Saturday mornings. It will also air on ABC Family later in the week. ABC Family will also have postgame shows after each NBA Finals game. "This agreement goes to the strength of our company," Walt Disney Company chairman Michael Eisner said in a statement. The NBA has confirmed that it has had discussions about increasing the length of the first round of the playoffs from a best-of-five- to a best-of-seven-game series. However, for any such change to take place, the players' association would have to agree to the adjustment as well. That has not happened. The NBA and ESPN have also reached separate agreements extending and expanding relationships with ESPN Radio, ESPN Classic, ESPN.com and SportsTicker. ESPN.com will expand its video highlight rights and increased real-time game data, in addition to expanded fantasy game offerings. ESPN Radio will continue as the exclusive national radio home of the NBA, covering regular-season, playoff and NBA Finals games, in addition to the NBA Draft and All-Star festivities. April 19, 200422 yr I am in the minority, but I like ABC/ESPN's NBA coverage better than TNT/NBC. ABC has Al Michaels who makes Costas and Albert look minor league and have technology like floor cam and the skycam thing that make TNT's telecasts look 1994-ish.
