Got shades?

Featured Replies

Miguel Cabrera doesn't like wearing sunglasses in the outfield. After April 18, he's willing to reconsider. Cabrera lost a routine fly ball in the sun, and Andruw Jones scored all the way from first base in the 10th inning, giving Atlanta a 3-2 victory over the Marlins. Cabrera drifted back with his glove over his eyes, but lost the ball along the way. It dropped in front of him, putting a damper on his 21st birthday. "I'm not comfortable with them," Cabrera said of wearing sunglasses. And now? "I will work with them. I will practice with them."

Good choice, Miggy! :thumbup

Not only is it good for catching fly balls, but it's also good for protection against UV rays.

He could wear the flips that are more commonly found on infielers. The transition wouldn't be as heavy in that case.

like Jose Reyes?

The most frequent wearer of them on the Marlins is Luiy

Major Leaguers haven't worn them as much recently, but from experience I'll tell you they are the best of the best to wear for the day games. Plus they are kinda cool anyways.

I like the headline in the paper today: "Cabrera's got a bright future, but he's gotta wear shades". haha

I know he used to, not sure if he still does. Some outfielders go back and forth between flips and normal shades depending on days and where they are playing. Juanpy goes mostly flips.

Yeah, I think they are pimp. If you do not want to wear shades Cabs, I suggest you wear those, just flip them on right before the ball gets hto you.

I'm pretty sure I saw Mike Lowell wearing them during Spring Training also.

:lol U sound like a sponser. lol

am glad he's try them out...just start useing them during bp and also have a coach hit him balls out there before the game everyday till he gets use to them...i got an extra set of oakley's if ya need them Mcabs...

Good to see it, but we can't be so hard on the guy. Sammy Sosa who has played the position for years and years lost a ball in the sun the other day. He is a pretty good right fielder too. Cabs has barely played any right. It just happened that the drop came at the worst time, with 2 outs and in extra innings.

meh.

the flip down shades are meh.

and nice to see cabrera growing a brain.

Balls get lost in the sun all the time. Hee's learnign from a simple mistake :mad :

what part of my arguement can you people not comprehend?

its not the losing the ball in the sun that i am not happy about.

its not even losing the game.

its NOT EVEN HAVING SHADES ON to start with.

how much clearer do you want it for you?

Like i said he'll learn from his mistake. It's better he learns it early in the season than later.

Btw, i don't appreciate the attitude.
