Posted April 23, 200420 yr Well i have survived the first series although it was a little hair raising especially after the fight and the Phillies fans we're out for blood. By the way, suntan lotion on a hot day...it's a must. Dontrelle is now my new favorite guy as he signed my baseball and about 300 others too. I also got a "picture" with him...well actually its me smiling while he signs my ball. Game Notes: 1) Bump pitched spectacularly although I would have liked to have seen Phelps come out to pitch to Thome but it didnt matter because there was no one on base. 2) Mordecai was spectacular in the field and I would love to see him play more. Gonzo is finished in my book. He's a good fielder but he can be replaced. 3) The brawl...well Gonzo was woman-like in knocking the glove out of Pratt's hand and was the wrong guy to pick a fight with. I'm glad someone knocked out Bell...I didnt see it too well but those fans were lookin to fight themselves. Luckily my dad was there or else who knows. 4) What can I say about Mikey Lowell....He's just outstanding. 5) AJ...Come back!!! He threw long toss today and reported no pain...aka he didnt scream in agony while i was around. 6) I can hit Oliver. 7) No I really can.... 8) Great effort and I'm glad to have not wasted my broom stick in the stadium.
April 23, 200420 yr Jesus, whats with replacing Gonzo, just shut up about it. Most shortstops dont hit for .300. Leave hima lone, he hits whenhe has to..sometimes. Plus hes the best fielding shortstop in the NL. So yeah/.

April 23, 200420 yr I havent gotten it developed yet and I'm hatin on Gonzo because he seems generally disinterested and lost at the plate. By the way, during the pregame, the Phillies were playing highlights of past season's and stuff and Peanut was staring at that board watching intently. He seemed to have this fire in his eye that I really liked.

His average will come up a little eventually. He only needs to be a .250 or .260 hitter... Team's 11-4 & people want to bench starting players on this team. Boy, the bar has really been raised here in the past few seasons! rofl
April 23, 200420 yr Ya Agon is Agon...he won't hit .300 but he plays defense like he can then I'm happy. No dumb errors like a few games ago

MLB said Alex and Castillo make the best double plays in the league, and i think Alex is amazing defensively. So stop hating... :mad :
April 23, 200420 yr i hate to say this, but i wish we had Renteria Edgar we miss you Its amazing the caliber of fielding shortstops we've had with Renteria then Gonzo... Stop hating on the Sea Bass everyone. Shortstop historically is the worst hitting position. Not everyone can be an ARod or Garciaparra. Jeter can hit but not much else so he'd be much more suited for probably third base... Besides, the pitchers are comftorable with AGon back there because they know they can make a pitch to hit a grounder sharply and AGon will be there making very good plays. BTW: Some analysts call the Castillo-Gonzalez combination one of the best in League History. Why would you want to break that up?
