Todays attendance

Featured Replies

D00d. It's a late SUNDAY school and work night game. Close to 30,000 is pretty damn good. Last year we probably would have had 18,000.

30000 isn't bad.

Oh, 28000, well that's a bad sign because I can't imagine what it would have been if Pavano or Oliver were pitchign and ESPN wasn't there.

Then the game would have been at 3:05 pm and parents could have brought their kids and working people would have had a chance to attend without losing a night's sleep so you never know.

Without checking I believe we drew over 100,000 for the weekend series which is good attendance in almost any park in baseball.

27,977 :confused

If a stadium deal doesnt get done attendance might decease to 10,000 per game :(

Fans come to the ball park to have fun and cheer the team on.

The reasons attendance is up so well this year:

1) We are the World Series Champs with a chance to defend the title

2) The team is off to a good start

3) They are fun to watch

and 4) for this series, it's the Braves...and they always draw well.

If a stadium deal falls through, we may see a drop in attendance...but nowhere near what you are showing....perhaps 10-15% that's all.

Always keep in mind, folks, that it's the team on the field that keeps the crowd coming. Things like scheduling hassles are a factor, but by a difference of +/- 2 to 6 thousand in paid attendance.

In other words, a sucky a$$ team and a non-committment to win on the part of the FO will guarantee (unless you're the Cubs :p ) that people stay away. We don't have that right now, right? What's actually killing this team is that the previous owner agreed to H-Bomb's lease terms, not a couple of thousand staying away here and there.

Through 9 home dates, average attendance is 31,411. Through 9 games last year, the average attendance was 16,862.

Nearly a 100% increase in attendance.

Fabulous!

A lot of fans had signs asking for a new stadium. :thumbup

haha I saw that....thought it was great!!!

I also like the way the Marlins are even getting their cheerleaders to get involved with the crowd...Heres a pic with a couple of the cheerleaders...pretty cool.

Hope this guys wife doesn't see this pic lol :p . I am very impressed with the attendance. Any time it is hard to see Orange in the stands I am a happy camper

Also tell me three-four years ago when the attendance was at its all time worst averaging like 12,000 a game if the Marlins were lucky...would you have imagined through 9 home dates having such a good average. This has been a lot quicker turn around than I ever expected.

oh yeah..

I know pudge isnt very liked here...but i wear his jersey proudly....he helped get us our Title of WORLD CHAMPIONS...i refuse to forget
