April 28, 200422 yr oh, lets just lay off darren oliver...He only have up 7 runs today...THATS ALL...only 7! Seriously, he sucks. I really miss Redman. I miss him too...what's even worse is that we didn't get much for him. Mike Neu didn't play well before he was injured to begin with. Bad deal. I have been wondering since that deal was made if it was really necessary, and I don't believe it was. OK, get it through your heads all of you once and for all. Mark Redman, deal or no deal, WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A FLORIDA MARLIN OPENING DAY THIS SEASON. He was about to be non-tendered. Getting anything more valuable than a souvenir A's ice cream batting helmet cup is an amazing job by Beinfest. But all people can sit and do is complain. Know the facts.
April 28, 200422 yr um.... your other 4 starters are not going perfect. any winning team cannot afford to have a gaping hole like Darren Oliver for nearly 3 months in a season.
April 28, 200422 yr Well, he'll win some thanks to JRS. He'll get lucky every once in a while. Other teams aren't going to drop 13 every time he pitches. I don't really want him to have a sparkling ERA, just win the damn game.
April 28, 200422 yr The only flawless starter so far was Willis. Beckett has looked good, but he hasn't been perfect. Penny's been doing good too, but he doesn't have the same ability as Beckett or Willis. Pavano's alright so far, nothing spectacular.
April 28, 200422 yr Penny is better than Willis, don't kid yourself Beckett has been untouchable against everything not in a Braves uniform Pavano has been very good so far. 8 innings 2 runs in Coors? How about the shutout againt Montreal? Come on give poor Carl some love. He's the Forgotten Arm even amongst the fans of the team :confused
April 28, 200422 yr well that is true, Wayne's stuff is mediocre... not bad results for a mediocore guy so far?

April 28, 200422 yr First and foremost, let me start off by getting myself some immunity....... Oliver indeed does suck, he will not improve, and he is an aging veteran.... there Now.... Some people here are starting to sound like Skankee fans..... complaining because of a loss here and there and not looking at the bigger picture. If Oliver takes a loss, hey, he sucks so we should expect some right? We can do nothing about it, so why bother? The argument of not comparing a Beckett to Oliver cannot be used, since Beckett has of course, the "upside". Forget any argument, cry all you want, because this is reality: Oliver will continue to pitch at the 5 until Burnett settles in. You guys wanna trade for Pedro Martinez? Cuz I dont think that is possible. We are stuck with Oliver at the 5 until Burnett comes back. Wayne is better suited to the pen, hes done a terrific job so far there. Let Oliver eat up the innings, and Wayne prevent the damage, rather than vice versa. Wish for a better bullpen, a better SS, whatever you want. Yall make it seem like we're 7-13 rather than 13-7. The fact remains that $*** happens. Maybe Ive become desensitized to losing because of so many yrs, but analyzing a loss from a fan's standpoint can sometimes be futile. April 28, 200422 yr He's not doing the job but he'll get at least one more start I'd think since this was in Coors.
