Just got back from the doubleheader. Man am I glad I decided to brave the weather!

 

When I got in the stadium there were literally about 200 people there. But by the end of the game & the start of the 2nd game (when the weather had cleared up a little) the crowd was much better. Although not nearly the 9000 announced.

 

Fans got the 2nd game of the doubleheader free after paying for the opener. :cool

 

What a nice night. Hitting with men in scoring position, 2-out clutch hits, solid pitching, defense getting pitchers out of jams, good coaching moves, good baserunning, just good good good good. Can't think of anything to complain about.

 

I almost tossed my peanuts when McKeon sent Phelps on a hit-&-run! And it worked! And when Hollandsworth-to-Lowell threw out Mecias at the plate the whole place went nuts.

 

And in the 2nd game, Pierre heads for 2nd and Castillo hits it right through the hole where the shortstop was. It's just a thing of absolute simple beauty when the hit-&-run play works.

 

This is fun. Let's go for 7 in a row!
