May 3, 200422 yr How would an OF of Beltran, Pierre (move him to LF because his arm is so weak), and Cabrera look to everyone? Pierre (LF) Castillo (2B) Beltran (CF) Lowell (3B) Cabrera (RF) Choi (1B) Redmond/Castro © Gonzo (SS) That looks like a pretty nice line-up to me. If only he didn't have Boras as his agent, sigh. That would be even better than Vlad. Of course it won't happen, but I can day dream. :hat
May 3, 200422 yr Author Beltran is a certified Yankee after this season... I don't think he will be. I think he is another Vlad. He's already gone on record stating he is "sensitive" and is cautious about playing in a market like that. If he can ignore Boras' greed, I predict he'll end up in LA or somewhere other than NY. I have a little bit of hope he'd take a pay cut to come to Miami if the stadium happens. I can hope, anyway.
May 3, 200422 yr I think he'll be a Red Sox, Yankee, Dodgers or Giants after this season but hey i wouldnt mind him in South Florida
May 3, 200422 yr I'll bet anyone he goes to the Yankees. It's a no brainer, Bernie and Lofton both suck, and I'd be willing to be that Beltran is there before the end of the year...
May 3, 200422 yr Unless Beltran can play SS or Catcher the FO won't go after him even if they did have the money because OF is not a need position for us.
May 3, 200422 yr I guess some out there think that getting a new stadium would mean we are the yankees
May 3, 200422 yr I guess some out there think that getting a new stadium would mean we are the yankees that would have to wait like 10 years.
May 3, 200422 yr What about Nomar? Beltran's a better centerfielder than Pierre. A bit less speed, but a stronger arm and reads fly balls better.
May 3, 200422 yr O Cabrera is what The Marlins need to focus on because with all the fuss of Rent and Nomar. He might have to lower his price and look to teams outside the normal fa players.
May 4, 200422 yr oops I just started a thread on this subject didnt even see this one around I think its a GREAT idea :mischief2
