You're right, but the scenarios are totally different. Cuban does not have to worry about competing with a large market team and crazy spending owner Like George in NY. His sport has a salary cap, baseball does not. When you have to overcome basically a $100 million difference in team payroll it makes the chances of competing....ever...very slim. He also only has a team which starts 5 people and can have one player truly dominate every game, every day. It is a totally different thing, it is like comparing apples to oranges. Plus, he also does not have the stadium difficulties that the Marlins do.

I think Loria is a true douche bag too and knew what he was getting into before he purchased the Marlins since he did have another club with similar problems like the Expos.

As for Loria, can't say for certain. I've seen him at a lot of games on TV and when I'm at the stadium... whether he attends them all I don't know.

You could however argue that it's a lot more about EGO than greed. Some owners I'm sure love realizing that they're now the owner of a major league baseball team. Then they realize you have to spend a truckload of money on players and you may never see a return on your money, and suddenly that wallet closes up awfully quick.

You know what's the diffrence between Cuban and Loria? Cuban was a regular guy who got lucky and became a multi-billionare and Loria was never just a regular guy. Cuban is one of us just that he is now living the dream and he cares about his team's fans. Loria but not because he wants the florida fans to have another championship team.

The status of the Marlins is on life support.. not many owners would be interested in a franchise with a pissed off fan base, bad TV deal, horrible stadium deal, and the list keeps rolling.. only way this franchise will suceed is by moving it to somewhere that will bring in revenue... and that means.. moving it out of Miami-Dade County... the bad part is.. don't count on Broward... Palm Beach (County) is a maybe... anyways.. moving out of an area that most don't care about the franchise won't do any harm and might revive it.. the bad part is for the small crowd who are TRUE Marlin fans in Dade...
