Griffey Glare

Featured Replies

Griffey worked with McKeon when Beckett was in high school and most of you were in diapers. He can glare all he wants.

And Sosa can hop when he's supposed to be running out a groundball.

That's different. However, I think the Sosa-hop has been so ingrained into the baseball culture that pitchers shrug it off. He does it to everyone, so no harm.

So cans omeone please tell me what happened between Jack and the Reds? Why did he get fired?

Griffey should be careful. A well placed fastball can put him out for yet another season.

Any Marlin pitcher who throws at someone on purpose will go on my hate list forever. You never know when that base runner may be the winning run in a game.

Being the pro he is, Griffey played them both like a Steinway and earned the right to sneer.

It was a good choice in abstract terms, but young Josh in that situation was a poor choice to throw the junk balls necessary to force what was wanted. It was very much a mental situation requiring a real pitcher rather than a thrower. Three straight changes probably would have fanned Griffey in 3 pitches, but the boy hasn't learned to be that sneaky yet... I agree.

But one fastball up and in, and Griffey wont be staring at anything but a medical chart for the rest of the season.

That was uncalled for by Griffey who was NOT very professional at all there. Although you cant plunk him, I hope our pitchers take notice and K that mother everytime he gets up to bat. Cant spell Ken without a K after all...

Maybe that lit something for Griffey, but it may have also lit up our team...

i'm pretty sure every single one of them has beaned or aimed for a guy at some point.

The way you retaliate is by winning, not helping the other guys by putting them on base. If we wanted kindergarten behavior from players we could be paying a lot less in salary...

If you got a real beef with someone, take it outside the park and tune'em up with a 2x4 in the parking lot. If it isn't worth putting someone in ICU or a coffin over, then you should just forget it. Life is too short for such petty crap. Tell that to Griffey.

Um, 1999?

And tonight was the perfect retaliation. Nuff said.

2000.

The year after the Reds' winning season when Griffey came in and tried to get his daddy to replace Jack.

Wow, diapers for sure.
