The Official NBA Finals Thread

Great game, great strategy by the Pistons. The thing I was impressed about this game was of course, the Pistons defense. The Lakers were out of whack from the beginning, even though Shaq and Kobe got their points. :D

I have a question...where is Stephen A. Smith?

He has ripped the Pistons like no other leading up to the finals but now he is no where to be seen.....

stephen a smith is one of the worst 'journalists' around.

i hate him and cant stand anything about him. he yells like an idiot and cant even sound inteligent on tv.

why he cant use his indoor voice and talk in english is beyond me.

I actually like him and his no B.S approach.

I just wish he would back himself up right now.

I just wish he would back himself up right now. oh he has a lot of BS approach.

i still loved his 'half hearted' attempt at saying david robinson didnt suck after last year's NBA Finals.

he wont back himself up because he cant.

In Game 1 I saw alot of turnovers by the Pistons, second chance shots for the Lakers, and lack of ability to close out on the defensive end by Detroit. This is going to lead to one of two things: The Lakers adjusting and abusing this weakness until they notch up four wins, OR The Pistons closing up these mistakes and completely shutting the Lakers down.

I'm hoping for the latter.

that was a great win for Detroit.

I said before the series that Detroit would steal one of the first two games & make a series of it.

I still don't think they'll win but I'm rooting like hell for them.

I hate the Lakers with a passion. I think Detroit matches up pretty well actually. Even though they're not a high-scoring team, they have plenty of players who CAN score, and they all play very good defense. I like Elden Campbell in the game too, always thought he was an underrated player. He's always been too soft, but can still body up Shaq a little and add some offense when needed.

Well the Pistons couldn't shut down Shaq and Koby but they did a great job of shuting down the rest of the Lakers. Great game for the Pistons! 3 wins away!

Elden can also be 6 fouls on Big Poppa.....

I hate the Lakers with a passion too. Some Bulls fans are Lakers fans. I just don't get it. :confused

Pistons played like crap and are within a field goal.

It's amazing how the Pistons play and they still remain in the game. The shooting is horrendous.

Thanks for joining the thread it was getting a bit lonely in here....

When the Marlins game ends hopefully others will join...

As for the Pistons they should be glad that they can play this poorly and still be in, that shows just how vulnerable the Lake Show is right now.

I seriously don't think the Lakers match up well against this defense. But, though they play bad, the media and the Lakers keep saying "we have no emotion" or "we didn't bring our A game." I hate the arrogance.
