I still hope Cabs goes to the Derby

They should do it based on their homeruns

They do.....

Lowell was offered a spot but declined

he probably thought he wouldnt be able to compete. and was better off not participating. afterall, he doesnt consider himself a homerun hitter.

i remember back in 96' when sheffield participated, boy was it a bad display of homerun power........ 0 homers!

Sheff was there last year and had one.

Thome failed when he was there last.

They need real fastballs to truly crush a ball while some of the others can produce enough with their stances.

Their defiantly are those who are against the odds in derby's and Boone was last year because he's a contact guy not a true power hitter.

I still want Thome there though, he's earned it.

Boone should have been able to make contact with a BP fast ball last year in the derby instead of whiffing.

he wasnt offered a spot, since he said he would accept if offered a spot tonight.

Griffey, Sosa, Thome, Vlad, Giambi and Rafael Palmeiro will be there.

Also invited were Bonds, who has yet to accept, and Alex Rodriguez who withdrew because of an injury. David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are the favorites to take the final AL spot.
