They better guarantee and All Star Game in 2008 to Miami then!

Teams who do not have an all star coming to them and you're complaining about Miami not having one in 11 years.

Ny Mets - 40 years since their last one

STL - 38

Royals 31

Yanks 27

LA - 24

Expos(They should get one when they move) - 22

Giants - 20

Twins 19

Cinci - 16

Those teams deserve a game

I'd agree if not for the one we had slated being taken away. Give us that one sometime in the few years after the stadium is built, then go elsewhere. I don't really care about the all star game being in my city (though I'd go to it if it were). The game just isn't what it used to be and isn't the biggest of deals.

So what? San Francisco was awarded the Super Bowl either in 2002 or 2003 (can' remember which one) but that was taken away, and you don't see me bitching about it.

Yeah, but no one cares about you.

And I'd to see a link to this Super Bowl thing. I've never heard of it.

MaysBondsLover.. face it. Selig is stickin' it to Magowan for having the balls to build a ballpark himself. That's not going to change, especially not with 4 or 5 publically-financed stadiums on the way by 2008.

Exactly. We should have had the All Star game two years ago. Still, most reports say SF is the favorite for 2007

We should have had it 4 years ago ;)

Why??? What exactly has this region done to require a game? First of all, is there a damn baseball stadium to play it in? Let them build the thing and play there first before awarding an ASG.

By 2008 the new ballpark should be in it's second year. We had the 2000 game before Henry and Selig took it away.

Actually, the decision to move the game came prior to Henry purchasing the team.

It really looks like 2007 will go to Tampa. They are the only AL team left.

Last 8 AL hosted games

Chicago 2003

Seattle 2001

Boston 1999

Cleveland 1997

Texas 1995

Baltimore 1993

Toronto 1991

Anaheim 1989

I have been to the Trop dozens of times. That is not an environment baseball was ever meant to be played in. If MLB tries to hold the game in that oversized Monster Truck arena, they are in a lot worse condition than anyone ever could have imagined.

You just did!

They're going to break the rotation of AL, NL, and after next year there will be long string of All Star games at NL parks. SF will probably get 2007, St. Louis will probably get 2008, Arizona 2009, Cincinatti 2010, San Diego 2011, and Philadelphia 2012

for this to happen the players association has to reject the home field advantage in the world series crap. because you would have the AL bitching about the Nl having an advantage. IMO, the WS homefield advantage thing won't be around next year.

St. Louis would be the favoritie for the '08 ASG. So they wouldn't want to give the ASG to the state of Missouri two years in a row. The '07 ASG would then have to go to either Anaheim, Tampa or New York. Then you can start breaking the rotation a year later.

Well i read an article about Bud Selig and he said he gave the 2006 All Star game to PNC Park because since they dont draw alot of fans giving them this honor might help get the tickets and fan draw ups. And he is also thinking about changing that rule of one year AL and one year NL.

Im going to find the article.
