July 29, 200422 yr Your boy is good. Damn good. After seeing John Edwards deliever his Hope is on the way speech....it really proved why he is on this ticket. It proved why Edwards was the guy that started catching fire in the primary season. Edwards is going to be the reason Kerry wins the White House. Granted I would of rather seen a Dean/Edwards ticket....but hell you cant get all you want. For everything Dean accomplished for the Democratic Party in the last year and a half.... Edwards is going to be just as important in the next 4 months if Kerry is going to win the Presidency. Edwards has that personality that is infectious.
July 30, 200422 yr Now that you mentioned it why the hell kerry? Edwards is in my opinion a better candidate and dean, although i disagree with his politics, is a better politician i thought as well. Did that noise dean made after iowa cost him the election or was it something else?
July 30, 200422 yr Edwards hasn't been in politics long enough, plus he didn't win the Democratic primary, which always is a good idea...
July 30, 200422 yr Why thank you Das. I've met Sen. Edwards 6 times, and by the 3rd time he recognized me by face and name. And I've met Elizabeth 4 times. He is a great man. Last year when the war started, and the middle class was getting screwed over, I was looking for a man who gave me hope. And who gave my family hope. Sen. Edwards did that. What I did in February as his Campaign Coordinator (in other words, County Campaign Manager and Co-Coordinator in 3 other counties) in my area I consider to be the most fulfilling thing I've done in my short life. I'm proud to say that we won resoundingly over Kerry and Dean in all 4 counties in which I worked. Sen. Edwards is not just a great speaker who puts on a good show, he took the time to actually come to my house and listen to what had transpired under the Bush administration to my family. And though my family is heavily conservative, they all made it a point to go and vote for him in the Wisconsin primaries, and then probably just vote for Bush in November. But thanks to Sen. Edwards, of 15 people of voting age in my family in 2000 Bush won 11-4, now its 9-6 this November. He truly cares and he knows where we are coming from in the middle class. He's a champion for people like my single mother trying to support 3 kids (I'm the oldest of my mothers 3 boys). He gives us a voice. And for that we are eternally greatful. But I hope that all of you here can see just why I poured my heart and soul into helping Senator Edwards win the White House. I can settle for 2nd best in this case, because Kerry was my 2nd choice in the primaries. But just remember who is fighting for you, he genuinely cares and not just for political gain. John Edwards WILL be President some day, and that day will be a great day for America. But for now, we must rally behind John Kerry and John Edwards with our un-ending support this November. Das- I must take this time to thank Governor Dean for his passion and also for bringing about 90% of the issues being discussed now to the fore front. Hotcorner- Edwards won the South Carolina primary. Tied for victory in the Oklahoma primary. And took extremely strong 2nd place finishes in my homestate of Wisconsin and my fathers birthstate of Iowa.
July 30, 200422 yr Edwards hasn't been in politics long enough, plus he didn't win the Democratic primary, which always is a good idea... 482088[/snapback] the fact that he didnt win the primary is obvious, my question was more down the lines as to why democratic voters voted for kerry in the primary
July 30, 200422 yr Edwards is from South Carolina isnt he? (yes, I know he's in North Carolina now). Maybe Charleston? Could definitely be wrong.
July 30, 200422 yr Sen. Edwards was born in Seneca South Carolina and moved to Robbins North Carolina when he was about 10-11 years old. He currently represents North Carolina in the U.S. Senate! And yes Edwards WON a primary! He won South Carolina's primary, and he also tied for victory in Oklahoma and had very strong 2nd place showings in Wisconsin, Iowa, Georgia, New York, and Ohio!
July 30, 200422 yr Damn! I knew he was from Seneca (near Clemson). I know a girl who's from there...actually, my freshman year, there was a senior wide receiver from there...has a band now
