Willis's ERA back under 4 at 3.86

Hes still the guy in the rotation who can scare you with those bad outings hes been much more consistant and has his ERA back under 4.00. Now every pitcher in the marlins rotation has an ERA under 4 except Burnett whos been the marlins best pitcher lastely, if beckett stays healthy the braves will no win the East

 

By the way the only other team in the league to have to have 5 starters under the ERA of 4 is Chicago but Prior and Wood didnt pitch enough innings to count and his fillin Rusch has an ERA over 4

 

So in a way the marlins are the only team to have 4 guys in the rotation that have pitched enough innings and have ERAs under, but suprisingly Milwaukee also does with Davis, Sheets, Santos, and Capuano, but Kinney who pitched most of the season instead of Capuano has an ERA of 5.93

 

I find this very interesting and if the Cubs fail to stay healthy its very safe to say that the Marlins have the best rotation in baseball

If we lose Penny and Pavano we still have three pitchers that are capable of that sub400 mark that a few tames had 3 of. Specialy since we're are going to have the same offense as this year we might now do too bad.

if all five can stay healthy for the last two months it's going to be fun to watch. we can't afford to give away more games with emergency 5th starters.

Willis has definitely been better lately. Seems he has found a groove.

 

Fingers crossed that all these guys can stay healthy and pitch to their ability the rest of the way.

 

If our offense can continue to get runs for them, then we should be able to put together a few nice winning streaks....and hope it continues this weekend with a sweep of the Expos.
