the one where we loose...Choi, Penny, Stokes, Murphy

and get Lo Duca, Mota, Encarnacion

dont like it

Is the Penny and bench player for Lo Duca and Ishii out of the question?

thats the only realistic trade rumor i've heard so far

Choi's a problem?

What team would want a power hitting first-baseman who has an OBP of .400 and makes $300,000 a year, and is going to get better as he gains more experience?

You know what.... This trade isn't so bad. We all know that Encarnacion is a solid player. LoDuca would be a tremendous upgrade at catcher. Mota would be an incredible addition to the bullpen...

Conine would move to first. Our outfield would consist of Cabrera, Pierre, and Encarnacion....

I hate to lose Penny and Choi, but this isn't too bad of a trade.

Encarnacion was the worst hitting starting rightfielder in the NL last year, and ain't exactly lighting it up this year.

Encarnacion is batting .235

let's not forget his abysmal .289 OBP and .417 SLG.

my god, offensively he's absolutely atrocious for an outfielder.

he's a huge downgrade from choi.

hell, even if choi for lo duca and enc straight up left us even offensively, giving up penny for a reliever is just asinine.

wow that is terrible.

Encarnacion's numbers absolutely suck. Dontrelle puts up similar numbers.

Especially when we don't get a starter in return. I mean, i hate thinking it, but what happens if Beckett gets another blister? We need Penny because Beckett staying healthy isnt given.. ugh

As every minute goes by I am hating this trade more and more.

for those of you who still like this trade, our potential "fifth starters" of tejera, phelps, bump, and wayne have put up the following numbers for their starts:

they average 3 and 2/3 innings per start.

they have an ERA above 9 per start.

this is suicidal.

lo duca sucks the second half

he might actually end up being a downgrade

check out his stats, im pretty sure every year he has had has been crap in the second half

Yea and just think if we have to use 2 of them in the starting rotation

Just to give you guys an idea of how terrible a season Encarnacion is having. Alex Gonzalez has a higher OPS than him.

thats not that amazing

gonzalez really hasnt been that bad for us this year....lately
