wasnt gabe kapler one of the biggest outfield prospects at one time?

53 draft round, dont think he was even close to big prospect that doesnt mean anything

dontrelle was drafted in the 8th round

wasnt gabe kapler one of the biggest outfield prospects at one time?

dontrelle was drafted in the 8th round that doesnt mean anything? ou obviously dont know anything about drafts and try out camps, you know how hard it is to get 8th round, man if i want to i could go get my dog and get 53 round. 20th round and under is where talent is at. past that is dead zone, just quit while your ahead and say you were drafted

i could've sworn i remember hearing something about an outfield prospect named gabe years back

i coulda sworn it was kapler

MIKE PIAZZA WAS DRAFTED IN THE 62 ROUND

lowell in the 22nd

Mike Piazza wasnt in the top 20 rounds....

yeah and mike piazza proved his potential along time ago, and he still sucks as a catcher

xdanny, i thgought your point was that where you are drafted shows how much of a prospect you are. mike piazza was drafted in thr 62nd round and became the greatest hitting catcher of all time. obviously, how good you are in high school or college doesnt always translate to the majors.

lowell in the 22nd trust me dont try to wn with naming acouple players, cause i know tons from columbus, st. brendan, sunset, south west that have been drafted and gone no where, i know a couple who made 17th steve mena kansas city royals, but he left to try again. dont try to correct me on draft rounds....

get what im trying to say, theres always a few who become good like marcus giles and the ones you name, but for everyone of those you named there more then thousands who just quit, that did better in draft rounds

Exactly, where you are drafted doesnt make a difference once you get to the majors. you seem to be proving the opposite of your argument.

no im sayign that for god sakes, that when your drafted passed 20th round chances are your not going to make it big or to the majors.

yes gabe kapler at one time was the prize of the detroit farm system.

in fact in teh big juan gonzalez trade a couple years back now....

it was gabe kapler that was the key piece to that trade taking place.
