Yes it is 9 games back of the Braves and 6 /2 back of the Cubs .... i am a marlins fan all the way but have to realize our playoff hopes are finished....unless we go like 14 - 4 the rest of this month

Funny, I didn't think we were 50 games out.

Last year was great but we cannot expect what happened last year to happen again. I dont think we are playing with that "reckless disregard" that we played w/ last year. We have to not worry about losing and play with more fire. Thats what we lack. Even if (big if) we make the playoffs we arent going too far.

So how is it official if even you have an unless?

By the way, going 14-4 the rest of the month would not just "bring back our playoff hopes" it would put us right near the top of the Wild Card race.

This thing ain't over... not by a long shot.

at this time last year we were 10 games over .500 and 2 back of the wild card....6 1/2 games aint gonna cut it

Exactly, as long as a team controls it's own destiny it's not over and we control our destiny so relax everyone.

That was last year. Who cares?

Fact is we are not done. These are the Comeback Kids. These are the Marlins. You know they like having their backs up against their wall. You know they like adversity. We don't even have our backs against the wall.

Relax. I can guarantee you every guy in that clubhouse knows we're still alive and knows how quickly things can change.

One game at a time. One day at a time.

True but we have shown no signs of going on a roll or a streak...Except our pitching its been great .....but 1 run in 3 games what is this sh** u would think were facing Nolan Ryan or some shi**

The way the team is playing right now it seems like we are 13 out rather than 6.5. We have been floundering 2 games within .500 for about a month now. It is frustrating when the team goes on a three game winning streak and then pisses it away by losing 4 in a row.

Well, the pitching is doing there part.

Come on offense.

We are still in it mathematicaly. But mentaly this team is not in it.

I have no expectations at this point. I'll continue to go to games and root for the team no matter what.

We gotta start playing with no excuses

No bashing the offense, pitching, or managing.

No "Well, Suppan had good stuff, And im trying hard, but he had good stuff" - Mike Lowell type of quotes

No "Were Battling, Were battling out there.." -Juan Pierre type quotes

No " Well, those were a good couple of hard fought games, yup, I guess the balance tipped over to their side" - Jack Mckeon Quotes

They gotta start being Cocky, Start thinking "im not scared to swing on the first strike, Im gonna hit the s*** out of the f***ing ball" and "Im going throw my best pitch right wherever i want to and hes not gonna do s*** to it"

no more excuses, i dont care if we are playing the cards or last year's detroit tigers, they have to go out there thinking that the other team is not gonna beat them.

This team is not going anywhere this year. Our offense is still real bad even with the addition of Lo Duca.

You can't have a line-up with 2 guys hitting in the .230's plus the pitchers slot, then add in Lowell who couldn't get a hit in a little league game right now. With 4/9 of the line-up not producing or even having productive AB's we are not going to win. Finishing above .500 might not even be possible.

Tonight was a tough lost. The marlins faced the best pitcher in baseball and couldn't do much off him. However, Pavano pitched horribly.

Opposing Team : 4 runs ( amazing )

Hate to be picky, but it's 5 I think.

How are either of those two statements true?
