June 24, 200323 yr ARE YOU CRAZY!!!??? :w00t Castillo cant RUN. Take a stop watch !!!!!!! he runs slower than pierre, lee, encarnacion FOR SURE. He and Pudge are back to back on times to first. I forgot the exact time but I remember it was more than a 4. his hip is not the only thing hurting him , its his weight as well. Id be surprised if he stole 5 more bases. His avg is going down the toilet. take a look at what hes done against the mediorcre rays and mets.. and even before that. you are dreaming WC.. hes not the same as he was before.. not even close. He did have added wieght last year and he was 175 the year before. but it didnt effect him as much as now. he wont steal 30 and he'll hover around .300 if lucky.. he cant beat out the IF grouders anymore. last year he had close to 30 of those and if he cant beat them out he would have batted no where near what he did last year. You do alot of name calling for a man who just posted the most outrageously ignorant post I have ever read. And trust me, there have been some BAD ones. Castillo is considered the best base stealer in MLB by about 75% of the coaches, players, analystis, fans, ect. Everyone knows that. Nothing has changed. There's no doubt in my mind he'll steal 30 this season, and your an absolute nut case if you think he'll only steal five more. He's been performing badly because his head is in another place. Let the man grieve. Do you not have any compassion? Every hitter has slumps and he is one of the few hew rarely ever does. ANd when it does happen every once in a blue moon, he snaps out of it when he needs to. And he added 10 lbs. of muscle and went up to 185. Have you seen how much more filled out he is this year? he'll hover around . 300 if lucky? For one, . 300 is nothing to cry about. That's a great average. And I don't see him dipping below that if at all more than once. And I bet you a million bagillion dollars he finishes in the top 3 for the NL 2B Gold-Glove this season. Name it and I'll bet you. So TORBORG the smart bastard moved Castillo to the two hole and Pierre to lead-off and they BOTH performed... Go back and see how bad Pierre was doing hitting second. THAT'S why they switched them around. if im correct he weight 150-160 not long ago You aren't correct. He was always at 170-175, and is now 180-185. WOW. And you have no idea if that was gained through fat or because of weight lifting. Becasue he does look like he has a bigger build than he used to.

June 24, 200323 yr Look at two simple, yet major facts for Castillo's performance and his slump lately... 1) SOmeone close to him just bought it in a car accident. If you think this doesn't bring down an excellent performer's ability for awhile, go look at Preston Wilson's numbers from last year to this year. Look, they are human, just like the rest of us. 2) He's bulked up alot and not runing as much because HE IS HITTING SECOND. He is no longer a leadoff hitter, and although his game doesn't change that much, his responsibilities do. The infield singles and slap hits he put up the last couple of years are alot harder to do when there is a force at second 30 percent of the time he is AB. I give him credit, he bulked up a bit and is trying to round out his game a little bit. Last year the bite on him was that all he did was steal and couldn't situational hit. Now he's trying to do that. He may not ever turn into a complete hitter, but credit him for trying to expand his game a bit. And no, I'm not on his jock. If there is one thing I'd love to do, it would be negative. But for fuc*'s sake, it's not like the guy's numbers are horrible.
