Congrats to Lenny Harris on a great career and what better way to end it than hitting a home run in the very last home game you play. You're retiring as the all time pinch hit king and you're retiring with a ring, you're the man Lenny. When Lenny stepped up to the plate tonight, I think I was one of the few people in all of PPS that knew this was going to be his very last AB in PPS, when his name was announced I was the only one giving him a standing ovation. You could just feel that something special was about to happen. When he hit his first home run of the season and his 12th pinch hit of the year, it was a very special moment and you could just tell he was taking.

There was also a foul ball hit near the founders field seats in RF and some fan interfered with Conine and Niner couldn't catch the ball. Then everyone sitting on the right side of PPS started boo'ing and then chanting "YOU SUCK YOU SUCK YOU SUCK" it was great and almost identical to the Bartman moment. The difference between this incident and the Bartman incident is we were able to keep our composure and go back out there and get a big double play rather than exploding like the Flubs.

Also in the 9th or 10th inning there was a fight or some sort of scuffle which required police intervention about 15 rows up behind home plate, not sure what happened though because everyone was standing up and I couldn't get a good look. Can someone that was sitting behind home plate give more details about this?

It was a very somber night and also a night of uncertainty. We didn't know if we were witnessing the last time Benitez pitched at home in a Marlins uniform, we didn't know if this was Lo Duca's last time behind the plate in PPS, and many other things.

As soon as the game ended 95% of the stadium emptied within seconds but a select few decided to just stick around and a lot of the Marlins players came outside the dugout and threw their hats, batting gloves, and some other equipment into the stands which was really cool and then they showed a video recap of the entire 2004 season, all the milestones, records set, special moments this year, etc. it was really great and at the end of the video there was a big thank you to all of the fans, it was put together very well and was pretty sad when it ended, mabye it was the music, lol.

Even though we lost and got swept by the Phillies, at least we went down fighting in extra innings and on the rare occasion when the big dog Armando Benitez gives up a home run you know the other team earned it.

All in all it was a great night and I can't wait for 2005, i've aleady got my deposit in for 2005 season tickets.

Go Fish.

Lenny might not be done...

I would have no problem with him returning.

I would absolutely love for him to return. He has 193 career pinch hits and i'm sure he would love to get to 200.

Awsome game. It was really close, they tried their best, and im not disapointed. the memorial thing at the end of the game was touching, i got alittle sentimental. Lennys homer was crazy, everyone went crazy. Cabreras was awsome too. this team is awsome, and i cant wait until the first home game next season. i hope most of the players are in the same uniform. it was funny when the crowd started chanting, i thought they were saying "looser". there was a huge wave and it went around about 4 times. Great game, and better luck next time.

The game was a lot of fun. It was exciting. I liked after the game ended, a lot of people gave the Marlins a standing ovation. The tribute made me teary eyed.

I was having a laugh at the Phillies fans there who were so proud of sweeping us. We're like, "Yay.... you beat us in about 3 times in the last 20 games against us. Congrats." LOL

Then we went to the player's parking lot and say our goodbyes to them for the year.

It was all great. This year was great, frustrating, but great. I can't believe this season is just about over!

hey Miri, did many players come out of the parking area and actually sign yesterday?

Nope. Thanks to some annoying kids getting in the way of cars, no one actually stopped.

bleh, the usual. I figured they would stop since it was their last home game, but some of them never do. I drove into the stadium (before it was open, I told them I had to get tickets, which I did) and Gonzo was behind us, we waved, and everything..he just stared at us and sped up - then drove around us.

Who's he? LOL

Who's he? LOL

Mordy and Manzy are great..they've stopped for me, Mordy twice. Gotten both their autographs, and had a conversation with them both too. I also have Aguila's autograph :) Seanez too.

Mordy and Manzy are definitely two of the best with the fans.

Last week, Manzy threw me a ball at BP and I didn't even ask for it. I just kinda called out his name and he looked up and he tossed me the ball. Good times. :thumbup

I had a great time at the game too. After the game I didn't even know if we won or lost. :lol

That video after the game was great :)

:tissue I am going to miss going to the games :tissue

Craig waved at me (after I shouted his name) lol.

Ya.. it was a great night. Big, noisy crowd. I *think* that fight behind home plate was because someone dove for a ball and hurt someone or something. I saw one guy standing up and riling people while a woman kept coming out to the PPS employees and pointing to her leg or something.

The whole thing was kinda sad, with the videos of last year. You could feel the frustration from the team because things just weren't going their way on the field. At least they tried..which is probably the best way to sum up this season. And the Lenny homer RULEDDDD

The Lenny Harris HR was caught by the guy right in front of me. A little more elevation and it would've been mine. The ushers came to give the guy the HR certificate, then they were called and the guy was taken away. We then saw that he was sitting in the dugout with the players! When he came back he had a bat and an autographed baseball. He told us that Lenny wanted the ball as it would probably be his last HR and he was given the bat (don't know if it was autographed, it was in a fabric wrapping).

Pretty cool night for him and his two little kids. The Chase Utley HR landed to my left and was kept by some old Cuban guy who yelled at me when I told him to throw it back.

Very memorable game.

I can't believe the season is over.

I'll see them on opening game.
