September 30, 200421 yr Author The college in Florida I would never even go close to is New College of Florida. It is basically one of the most liberal colleges in the country.

September 30, 200421 yr FIU and FAU are both public, as well as USF and i'm sure there's more. Anyways, how can one compare unless you've attended more than one?
September 30, 200421 yr Well, based on most statistics, it's UF. 576745 Well statistics can be looked up. If he's asking for personal opinions thats tough to do unless you've attended more than one.

Anyways, how can one compare unless you've attended more than one? 576743 Last time I checked there were I think 11 public universities in the FLorida public university system. This is like arguing what is the best car to drive. There are way, way too many personal factors involved. For example, I'm guessing that UF isn't all that popular for professionals who are looking to complete/continue their education on a commuting basis on nights and/or weekends. Just like I'm sure there aren't alot of housewives with 3 kids who would think a Ferrari is the best car for them.
September 30, 200421 yr Basing it on the best education, US News, Princeton Review, etc. will rate UF as the best. Obviously, if people don't like Gainesville, love South Florida, find school to be too tough at UF, like smaller class size, or anything else....then UF is not the "best". But based on straight academia, UF is head and shoulders above the rest. UF is one of the top public schools in the South.
September 30, 200421 yr UF is the Harvard of the South. No, I'm not biased. 576796 I'm pretty sure that's Dook.
September 30, 200421 yr UF is probably the hardest one to get into and that's why it rates so high. But FIU is just as hard to get out of as UF, if not harder. It also depends on what your field of study is. I'm a Spanish Lit major and I would never change FIU for UF, they just can't compare in that area, FIU is in a league of its own when it comes to Spanish Lit.
