October 2, 200422 yr A few months ago Kent Mercker complained how Steve Stone and Chip Caray pointed out the team's faults. Then Moises Alou complained about Stone and Carey's admiration for the pitching staff. Instead of telling them to get their butts out of the clubhouse and cheer on the team from the dugout, Dusty Baker echoed their sentiments. It died down until their spiral before Hurricane Frances when Alou and Baker started up again. Ever since it seems Stone has gone out of his way to point out every mistake. The Cubs broadcasters travel with the team and have a lot closer access than most MLB crews. Sounds like Jim Hendry or the Tribune lords are trying to seperate them.
