At the present we just lost a big series. In the fture, we need to win the other big series. We ween't swept when we should have been. We are actually playing good baseball...

The Atlanta series is gonna be huge. If we can win 2 of 3 we will be at . 500, and we can't keep hovering at that mark. If we sweep, we're over it. We have the right pitchers to set-up the sweep. It could all just fall into place. We hit the Sox starters and bullpen very, very well, and will continue that against the Braves. Plus, the Braves have a great line-up, but it ain't the BoSox. If we lose 2 of 3 or are swept, it could be devistating, unless we win he rest of the series in the "good team" stretch.

This is w/o a doubt the biggest series of our season. It will probably make or break this team. The bullpen needs to shape the hell up, and fast. Jack Mckeon needs to tell brad penny that he might intiminate a few hitters, but he ain't scurred of him, and that he'll take his a** out if he doesn't start mixing it up (note: all the HR's he gave up were on high fastballs).

Redman will win the game tommorrow, I am confident. Beckett's game is a toss up. If Hampton has a good night, we'll probably lose in Josh's return. If Hampton has another bad night, we'll take that game, too. And I honestly think wednsday's game is a locked win.

And everyone, while I have you reading, stay as far as you can from negitive press, posts, everything. We need to stay positive. As optimistic as possible. Show up to this series. Go to the damn games. Same for all you guests who don't sign up at the boards and read around, go to the games. They need support now more than ever.

I don't see Atlanta hitting as well as Boston did. The Rays kept them from hitting much and the Rays pitching staff is not very consistent.

Rays have solid pitching, but they're no Marlins staff...

The Braves will continue to somewhat struggle against better pitching and in a bigger park...

So you say that the Marins have better pitching than the rays or vice versa? I would say advantage Marlins in the pitching dept. and almost every other dept. over the Rays.

No they wouldn't... They would be third... The Braves are much better... In fact, we are better on paper than the Phills...

True.

On paper the division would be...

1. Marlins (solid pitching and offense)

2. Braves (adequate pitching and above average offense)

3. Phillies (adequate pitching and above average offense)

4. Expos (solid pitching and average defense)

5. Mets (average pitching and adequate offense)

I dunno...I think Willis should win his start easy, but Redman-Maddux will be a very tough matchup. And though I'm not worried about Hampton much, who knows what Beckett will pitch like in his first return? I'm hoping for 2 of 3, and a sweep is possible, but we could be looking at some close games...

Not that you're being a homer or anything.....

Why is that the Phillies depend on Burrel basically to be sucessful in order for the team to win? That is their problem.

Pat Burrell???

They don't depend on him at all! Ask the Phillie fans... He's like their D-Lee...

In fact, they really depend on Thome...

Dude he's played two full seasons, 2001 was his breakout year but not a year you depend on please...

This year Ramp's assesment is true but Byrd has been amazing this month plus The Phils have relied mainly on their pitching throughout the year.

You have no clue what your talking about,

I think the MVP for the Phils has been Leiberthal...he has done more than anyone expected. Burrell will improve...I just hope it is not when the Marlins are playing the Phils.

If I don't know what I am talking about, then why did the Phils sign him to such a big contract? A big contract means they plan on him being a club pillar for many years to come.

Last time I checked we were talking about Pat Burrell being The Whole team not his contract!

You don't know that their are other members on The Phillies who have performed, Pat Burrell is not the entire team as you say of course in your eyes he is the entire team.

I didn't say he was the whole team. I said that it was a pattern that when Burrell slumpes so did the Phils. I said that the Phils need him to perform well in order to be more successful.

I know you have more than Burrell. You have 24 other players who produce. Thome, Wolf, Polanco, Rollins, Bell (who has been slumping), Leiberthal, Millwood (who had a great start), Byrd, etc.
