October 3, 200422 yr Ichiro went 2-4 today bringing his single season hit total to 262 and the books have been closed, the record will stand at 262 which is 5 more than George Sislers record and Ichiro will finish the season hitting .372. What an amazing season for Ichiro.
October 5, 200422 yr Well after a very upsetting season and going through tough times, Jason Giambi will be back in MVP form for next season. He will go on to get 275 hits and hit .381.

October 6, 200422 yr after hitting .200 or so the last 2 seasons, I think he'd like to hit over .300 first before the HRs come
October 7, 200422 yr Author did sisler play in all 154 in 1920? 584757[/snapback] Yes: http://www.baseball-reference.com/s/sislege01.shtml
October 7, 200422 yr Two things on this record, One if ever there needed to an asterisk this one they should slap it on. Two if the shoe was on the other foot, e.g. an American trying to break a Japanese record they wouldn't pitch to him. This has happened several times over the years especially with the HR record for single season. I think the MLB teams should have done the same.
