Lets keep this argument free and just give your quote of the debate... Here's mine:

"It's against the law to hire people illegally." -John Kerry.

Being lectured by the president on fiscal responsibility is a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in this country. -John Kerry.

Kerry talking about "marrying up" really cracked me up.

Ya, I enjoyed comments by both during that segment. That probably the warmest it will get for the rest of the season.

"His voting record is so far to the left that Ted Kennedy is now known as the conservative Senator from Massachusetts." -George W. Bush

Why is that one good? Because its a stark falsehood?

"D Cheney's daughter is a lesbian. . ." - Kerry :plain :plain :plain

That's right John, make those evangelical christians think twice before voting for Bush-Cheney! Its not good when your dad backs someone who hates you and your people.

Yet at the same time its ok to cite Ted Kennedy to bolster your education program. :plain

The term "internets" rules!

I'll go with (in response to Kerry, using source material made popular by Fahrenheit 9/11, quoting Bush where he said he "Didn't really think about Osama Bin Laden much" and he "wasn't losing sleep over finding him.") :

Bush: "I never said that. That's what's called an exaggeration." (Satanic chuckle because he finds what Kerry said SO preposterous)

"D Cheney's daughter is a lesbian. . ." - Kerry :plain :plain :plain

You'd think from the Cheney's response today they are ashamed of that fact.

Kerry dug his own grave in the elections by saying that. Bush is going to pull another win in 04. :thumbup

Pretty easy to see what is going on here. Debate poll numbers show Kerry won and the Republicans are trying to turn this around by making comment on Mary Cheney the focus of post-debate discussion. (Pretty much what they did in 2000 with Al Gore and the sighs)

And Marlins2k3Champs I'm doubting your indecision with a silly comment like that. You cant even vote anyway.

Plus the only way that mentioning Mary Cheney could possibly be "embarassing" is if the GOP is embarassed by the open, non-secret, fact that Mary Cheney is a lesbian. If they are, that's their problem, not John Kerry's.

Something a friend of mine e-mailed me

Mentioning Mary Cheney in response to a question about whether homosexuality is a choice isn't a cheap shot unless you think there's something wrong with being gay. That's all there is to it. That aside, the family's offendedness seems awfully feigned. Kerry's remarks clearly were meant to humanize the issue he'd been asked to address, and were compassionate and respectful. And it's not like Mary's orientation is a secret. Mary Cheney's not only out, but she's worked as a paid outreach liason to the gay community for a major corporation. Her father has also discussed his daughter's sexual orientation while on the campaign trail. Alan Keyes, on the other hand, took some pretty ugly swipes at Mary Cheney. So where were Mary's parents when Alan Keyes was slamming their daughter as a "selfish hedonist?" And who's using their daughter for political gain?

"Embarrassed" has two R's... Democrats should be used to that word by now.

Coming from someone who has never actually made a cohesive argument on this board on any of the issues? All I get from your posts are ad hominem attacks. Says a lot.

Lighten up Francis. It's all in good fun. You'll get cancer if you worry too much about what people say on a message board.

I talk about politics all day in college in all my political science classes.. I don't feel the need to talk about politics with a bunch of high school punks, especially when it's hard to convey personal emotion and feeling over a message board... especially when half the posts are BUSH SUCKS or KERRY SUCKS.

BTW, I never said I was a republican... so you can stop hating me for that one.

You must be reading a different board my friend because for the most part there is intelligent discussion with a minimum of name calling. Unfortunately, your decision to add your comments is changing that.

It doesnt bother me in the least. Id say its for your benifit to contribute something rather than post one liners. Id also venture to say that of all the people who put substance and backing into their claims are 100% college or higher.
