November 19, 200421 yr Why dont the Marlins offer Matt Clement a 3 year/ $22 million offer? I think his proven himself he can pitch in this league. I would love to have him back in this team.

November 19, 200421 yr That's what i say. I'd even give him the 4/32 that was supposedly offered to Pavano. But someone said him and Marlins mgmt had a falling out when he left.. But like I said before, he had a great year up to the end of the season when his back acted up on him. He would have had close to 20 wins if he didn't have the worst run support in baseball. He is widely known as having one of the best sliders in baseball along wtih some of the best movement on his pitches in baseball. It really surprises me he isn't listed as one of the top free agent SP's in baseball this year.

November 19, 200421 yr dude Pavano is gone....there is noway he'll be wearing a Marlin uniform next year...and before clement id hope the fish go after a real good pitcher like...Ortiz,O.Perez,Lieber,Lima,O.Hernandez...or trade for someone....another thing is they just let J.Guillen slip through there fingers...it doesnt look to me like the fish are really going to do anything big this off-season...i wouldnt be surprised if they ended up with some AAA pitcher in the rotation....

November 19, 200421 yr I'd take Clement over all those pitcher you named except maybe Perez. Albert Pujols said Clement is the "toughest pitcher" he's faced.
November 19, 200421 yr He had nagging neck and shoulder injuries toward the end of the season but before these injuries started: April-July: 8-10, 2.92 ERA, 1.18 WHIP Aug-Sept: 1-3, 6.11 ERA, 1.65 WHIP

November 20, 200421 yr Clement is too inconsistent for me, and $22 Million on someone that isn't a sure-thing is way too much money to spend for a small market team. Vote: NAY. Will SOMEBODY lay a GOOD bill on the floor?
