I can't believe we are actually having this conversation!

My ideas-

-natural grass

-PNC style out-of-town scoreboard

-Retractable roof like at Safeco, except that it opens to the 3B side

-Very dark teal seats

-dirt warning tracks

-Smaller version of home scoreboard at Comerica

-not to much brick, limestone would look nice and a Miami feel

-Marlins in more classic looking uniforms

-Teal and black outfield walls (see Comiskey)

-pitcher's park

-chicken fingers currently sold at PPS

-Nice view od downtown

-Wrap around scoreboard like at Comiskey

The seats should look like this:

I like that color, but doesn't anyone think this is to, minor league baseball-ish?

I don't think it's any worse than having orange seats.

How do we know teal will still be in the team colors come 07-08? maybe loria decides to change the teal to blue?

Nothing too bright, otherwise it looks like crap when the place is empty. Not that the new digs will never be empty ... just theoretically speaking :)

Here are the seats I would like...

Roger Dean has alot of elements that would be nice in the new ballpark. Here is a nice mix of brick and stucco commonly used in Southern Florida.

Another thing I would like are fountains and palm-tree lined walkways to make the area seem nicer.

This is an example from Hammond Stadium here in Lee County.

I like the exterior of Roger Dean. Something like that on a larger scale (obviously) would be nice for the Marlins.

Other features I'd like:

-Marlins ice cream helmet

-Strippers in club level (make it a real "club")

-Retractable roof on 3B side

-Some sort of aquarium at the park

-LESS ADS ON THE DAMN WALLS

I was thinking maybe a dark green or a dark blue!

If it was going to be teal I would like it to be a dark teal, nothing too flashy!

Something like this?

Amphitheatre style seating so everyone (especially kids have a great view).

Natural grass.

Enough flagpoles to hang all our WS banners.

I like that!

Kinda!

It would be kinda cool if the Marlin looked like a real Marlin... not just a metal one kwim.. And black granite under the Marlin and all around the fountain! :thumbup

I want to design the stadium :lol

I would like to see:

-Fish Tanks in the stadium and outside the stadium

-Sandstone for the walls- makes it look like sand

-Lawn seats in the outfield

-Blue Marlin Fountain in front of the stadium

-Dark Blue seats

umm.. I will think of more later!

YES!

Space Coast Stadium.

They are changing those seats out soon. They will probably be red to suit the Nationals.

Maybe they will just paint them over? It would be cool if they did tear them out that they put them on sale.

Another note, the Nationals aren't guaranteed that they'll be playing spring training there in 06. Who knows what the new ownership will do. I believe the marlins still own the lease to the stadium also.

John Henry owns SCS and the spring training facility. The MLB Expos paid to use it. No idea how that was resolved. I guess it hasn't and won't until a new owner is found.
