We ought to be looking at Juan Gonzalez, he's a free agent. He's been injured, so his numbers have obviously been down in recent years. His salary last year was $4 million, so we could probably get him for one year at $2.5 million or maybe even less. If he seems healthy and he's around at the end of the offseason and we still have not filled our need in RF, we ought to go for it.

This guys career is done. What you guys forget is that Pudge and Mando are young. This guy is old.

Did JuanGone even play 20 games this year? If not, he's not worth a major league contract.

 

Oh, he played 33. And 82 and 70 the two years before that. That should merit him a spring training invite too.

This is much more of a gamble than the Benitez signing, because Juan has had serious injury problems which are not likely to end this late in his career.

That mere 1.5 million is very imporatant to the Marlins. If we're offering 7 mil a year to Pavs, mine as well spend that mere 1.5 mil on his contract. NO MONEY IS MERE FOR THE MARLINS!
