December 13, 200421 yr ...the death penalty. Jury Recommends Capital Punishment REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Dec. 13) - A jury decided Monday that Scott Peterson should be executed for murdering his pregnant wife, Laci, whose Christmas Eve disappearance two years ago was the opening act in a legal drama that captivated the nation. A cheer went up outside the courtroom as the jury announced its decision after 11 1/2 hours of deliberations over three days. The jury had two options in deciding the 32-year-old former fertilizer salesman's fate: life in prison without parole or death by injection.
December 13, 200421 yr They should have sent him to San Quinten and let him get raped the rest of his life.
December 14, 200421 yr If you kill your wife and child because you like some other woman better and don't want to die, you deserve to die. :thumbdown

He'll get to live another 50 years in isolation getting 3 square meals a day, and have a life that a lot of people wish they could have. In the last hundred years of the about 500 people California put on death row they've executed about 20 of them I think.
December 14, 200421 yr I thought California hasnt "killed" anyone on death row, in the last 80 years, can anyone corroberate this

Since they have reinstated the death penalty they have put 18 out of 500 on death row down.
December 14, 200421 yr those jurors are brainless. not influenced by media attention and public opinion? yeah bulls***.
December 14, 200421 yr Can't say I ever followed this case. And I won't say good riddance because I don't know my thoughts on the death penalty.
December 14, 200421 yr They should have sent him to San Quinten and let him get raped the rest of his life. 634396[/snapback] Agreed.
December 14, 200421 yr I'm not a fan of the death penalty at all for a variety of reasons, and I'm especially not a fan of it when it's a case entirely based on circumstantial evidence. Don't get me wrong, Peterson is pure scum and deserves to rot in a prison as his several "boyfriends" have some "fun" with him several times a week, but eh I have never liked the death penalty......

He may be scum, but the Juries decision to base it on emotions is pure bulls***. That will never get through the appelate courts without a retrial occuring. While I believe he commited the crime, I think he should have got life, so he can ponder what an idiot he was for killing his wife while getting raped by the prisoners.

Certain things should be given only as rewards such as TV privileges which now every prisoner has. I would also decrease the portions and quality of food given, they should eat gruel. Then life in prison is worse than the death penalty.

But maybe that's just me.

And one of the things the taught us was that people have an innate desire to not die. True there are people who committ suicide and such, but for the most part people dont want to die, and whne faced with a life or death situation are instinct is to choose life.
