December 16, 200421 yr How much do you guys think our attendance is going to go up next year. I think if the fans cooperate we can reach the 2 million mark. We really need our attendance to go up in order to field a good team.

Not matter how much attendance goes up that won't affect payroll, they will still lose tons of money. I read somewhere the Marlins would need 70K (not possible) to break even.
December 16, 200421 yr hello mr. obvious. 636126 I think if we pitch well and hit well we will win games. :thumbup

It looks like payroll will be going up to close to 70 million this year...
December 16, 200421 yr I continue to believe that considering the entire Cubs series was a washout and the Marlins only had 78 home games vs other teams' 81, combined with the effect of four hurricanes in late Aug/Sept we could have drawn 2,000,00 last season.

Not to mention that the hurricanes took us out of the wild card race.
December 16, 200421 yr Not to mention that the hurricanes took us out of the wild card race. 636178 No, mediocre baseball by the Marlins in June/July/August took us out of the race.

The Marlins were in it up until these hurricanes screwed up the schedule. And it didn't affect them solely because they had to play 30 games in 27 days, but they were scrambling for starting pitchers (i.e - The Logan Kensing experiment).... And that killed them.
December 16, 200421 yr The Marlins had a chance to put away the Braves, Phillies and the rest of the division in July. They failed. The offense. The defense. The pitching.
December 17, 200421 yr Probably just me, but I think we would have outlasted the stros in the WC race without the hurricanes and Logan Kensing.
