Huff available?

Featured Replies

He'll be hitting free agency I think. And a lefty with 30 hr power and 300+ ba and 340+ obp 28 year old, entering his prime, can demand a lot of years and a lot of money. And it is not common for the Marlins to sign those sort of players.

If they want to trade an AJ away, I think they should see if they could get a Dunn cheaper since I think he would be better than Huff. If not then look into Huff.

Prediction: No major trades will occur between now and opening day, nor major signings.

From Insider:

Dec. 19 - The Devil Rays' only major-league acquisition so far has been catcher Kevin Cash, and they're looking for ways to trade their best hitter Aubrey Huff, the Toronto Star reports.

Huff hit .297 with 29 home runs and 104 RBI last season. He made $2.66 million

Why is this report coming from a Toronto newspaper?

I always find Marlins related news from places like San Diego, Houston, etc.

Stuff goes out on the AP news wire and every paper in North America reports it.

This isn't a wire story though, it's Ken Rosenthal.
