SHAWN GREEN

Featured Replies

Didn't that MarlinsInsider guy say that there would be a trade involving a pitcher and a lefty bat after Christmas? Could this be what he was talking about?

(Don't blast me for being objective here, I am just saying if what he said is true, if this is it.)

No chance, it would have to involve Enc going back to the Dodgers and that wouldn't happen. Plus far too much money, and probably have to give up some pretty decent prospects

ANY GM who would pay that kind of money for a guy who only put up 266, 28 HR's last year would be in serious need of an MRI.

shawn green would hit 10 hr's in pps lol

isnt Dodger stadium one of the best pitchers parks, even more so than pro player?

by the way i am new here i signed up a long time ago when i saw someone talk about other marlins sites on the offical marlins site but forgot that i did

they are about equally bad. but pps is where lefty hitters come to die. It was more of a sarcastic joke. I think the marlins need a lefty hitter but they need a gap hitter with speed. Green is a better fit in Arizona.

Overall, possibly, but generally JRS is a virtual dead zone for lefties. Besides, didn't Green not want to leave LA, hence why the original deal where the Dodgers were getting massively fleeced fell through?

Same thing I said.

We don't have that kind of money.

The only big name free agent we went after so far was Al Leiter and we practically stole Alfonseca for the league minimum. I see no reason why we can't afford Shawn Green, and plus, it's not like there's anyone else out there.

GIT'R DUN!!!!!!!

THe equivalent of agreeing to pay that money would be the same as The Mets agreeing to Burnitz and Vaughn's contracts a few years ago. It's complete idiocy. The guy had horrible numbers last year for the type of money you'd be paying for him. He's over the hill and would just be another team paying a big check for a guy who has no right to make that money.

Please explain what makes Green actually worth that money for a mid-level team?

We don't have that kind of money.

Offer him a 2 year deal of his fair market value and if he accepts it, great, if he doesn't oh well, life goes on.
