Tino Martinez... A Yankee Again

Featured Replies

Good for him and The Yanks. Hopefully he realizes this is his last hurrah.

If I remember didn't Jeter push hard for this?

LET'S GO TINO!! :notworthy

He was SO valuable to our team and he's such a good guy. How can you NOT like Tino??

I've always liked Tino, and it's a solid move for the Yankees as long as he can still drive in some runs.

Yeah, same here.. I've always been a Tino fan. While I hate the Yanks, I'm glad he got to go back there, cause I know it's what he wanted and it's where he's had most success.

Looks like Tino almost became a Fish

Martinez, 37, played for New York from 1996-01, helping the Yankees win five AL pennants and four World Series titles. A close friend of Derek Jeter, Martinez hit .262 with 23 homers and 76 RBIs for Tampa Bay last season.

``The Florida Marlins probably were my other choice,'' Martinez said. ``If the Yankees had any interest at all, whatsoever, it's where I wanted to be, where I wanted to finish my career.''

Good for Tino.. I actually liked him in St. Louis but he didnt do as good as I or Cardinals fans wanted him to and expected outta him (Ooh well we have a stud at 1b now).. How much are the Yanks gonna overpay for him though? I wish him well but dont honestly see how much left he can give the Yanks.

Passed his physical ... deal was not announced but should be official in the next day or two

Good signing, will bring more to the team than just a name and a dollar sign.
