Interesting NFL-Marlins connections...

Featured Replies

It's rare enough to see a former baseball player in the NFL. It's even more rare to see a baseball team have 3 former players in the NFL which is exactly what the Marlins have:

QB Josh Booty with the Seahawks, of course, played 3B for the Marlins for a short while before being deemed a bust.

S John Lynch with the Bucaneers, I wanna say he was a pitcher, but I'm probably wrong. I remember coming across his name at an Elmira Pioneers game in the program- it listed him as a top prospect. I don't think he made it far up the ladder.

WR Kelley Washington with the Bengals, just drafted this year. According to Lindy's Football Preview magazine, he hit .213 in the Marlins minor league system. Not sure what position, but I vaguely remember him.

I thought this was interesting info and thought I'd pass it on to my fellow fans, as is my duty :)

Booty was Ok at LSU but I thought he was with the Seahawks. I heard his brother is also a really good football player. Washington I thought was one of the steals of the NFL draft this year along with Jacobs who were both drafted in the second round.

as the resident seahawks fan booty is now with the browns (unless he gets released) ... the hawks drafted him and then put him on waivers in an effort to put him on the practice squad .. they had the browns in week 1 that year so the browns decided to snag him off waivers ......

wow, i didn't know lynch spent time in elmira ... went to quite a few pios games throughout the years
