January 10, 200521 yr First let me say I am an Encarnacion 2005 Believer. Second, speculation at this point is absurd. But, it gnaws at me. If we get Delgado, what happens to Conine? I can see him as a back-up at 1B, LF, and RF, and pinch-hitting. I did some homework and can't find if he ever played RF. Anybody know? I know he doesn't have RF speed but he does get a good jump at the crack of the bat. This whole scenario is premature. But, I'm curious. I fear we're going to lose Mr. Marlin and I don't want to. Your perspective will be appreciated.
January 10, 200521 yr He's played about 40 games in RF in his entire career from the numbers I see, most of them with the O's pre 2003. If we do get delgado, I am thinking more about Travis Lee as being what he acctually get, that conive would be the one coming off of the bench. He is older and I don't know if he can handle 120+ games anymore.
January 10, 200521 yr Dont worry, if Delgado were to be signed, I'm sure that K9 could go back to Left, Cabrera spent time in right both seasons in the majors, so thats covered. Tht leaves the question of Encarnassion. (I just call him Nass, im lazy...) I like having him around, but what to do with him? Im delgado doesn't happen then were set, no questions... if he does... Õ¿?

January 10, 200521 yr Seems to me that enc may be packaged in with burnett or something in a trade. Like this we'll solve the burnett issue, get rid of enc, hopefully get decent players in return, and also save money up for delgado. In fact if delgado agrees to sign with us then we'll probably see that trade for sure.

January 11, 200521 yr Having Conine come off the bench sounds great to me. BTW, even though we were really lucky with the injury bug last season its good to have a guy that can play first or the OF shall something bad happen.

Remember the ball lost in the sun incident, after which Cabs started wearing shades?

Given more time he would've been just as good a right fielder as he is leftfielder. It's not like he didn't take bad angles in left field. You're not going to tell me that when he moves to right field he forgets how to catch the ball.
