Mets Talk split from Delgado Thread

and Red Sox shills at ESPN like Jayson Stark.

:lol Jayson Stark is a homer but it's certainly not for The Red Sox, I have absolutely no idea where that came from. Stark is a clear Phils homer, he lives in the area, goes on Phillies themed shows for Comcast in Philly and is always the top insider for the team reporting on every one of their stories.

How you picked him to be A Red Sox guy is beyond me.

Read through his 2004 archive and see all the articles he wrote where he's all over the Sox's dicks. He can be a Phillie homer all he wants, but the man is a major Sox shill.

NY fans have got to be the dumbest and bandwagonerist fans of them all!

Bandwogonerist? Is that even a word? And I could pick a better team's bandwagon to jump on if I was such a "bandwagonerist" NY fan.

Yeah and didn't they win something that year? God forbid you're impressed by the world champions.

I didn't realize 2004 was restricted to a 1 month time period in October. All season he blowing smoke up their asses.

There are bandwagon fans in New York but it's the pot calling the kettle black coming from a Marlins fan because whether we like it or acknowledge it -- there are tons of "Marlins" fans out there who only come out of the dark when the team is doing well.

Oh, and nice new word. I like it.

The Marlins underwent debandwagonerization last year but I expect a full rebandwagonerization by June if we are good. The superbandwagonerism in Miami is rampant as in New York. Maybe someday scientist will invent antidebandwagonerization spray so the fans won't leave sports teams at the expected start of debandwagonerization.

Bandwagonerism is just horrible.

You have made me laugh harder with your scientific analysis of bangwagon fans than I have in a while.

Bandwagoners are horrible down here. About week 3 or 4 into the NFL season, all the Dolphins fans stop wearing the Dolphins jerseys and all have Eagles jerseys. Fans down here are sickening. :thumbdown

Actually... Pedor routinely makes it to the seventh, it is PAST that.. that you get concerned However, that is STILL an improvemnt over the 5 that Al gives.

I hope you guys get used to Leiter having 75 pitches thru 4 innings.

As far as Pedro goes, I know the Mets overpaid for him, but as someone earlier mentioned, it goes beyond that. They had to make a splash.

657663[/snapback]

I feel stupider just listening to Mets fans at times...

Leiter pitched over 100 pitches for every start, more than anyone on the Mets at 108.3 pitches a game with a modest 6.06 K/IP...

He had more pitches per game start than Pedro or Glavine and a significantly less K/IP than Pedro...

The fact that he averaged less innings per start means that the Mets D sucked donkey balls whenever he was on the mound. Sorry but with the Marlins he won't have that problem.

He has a one year contract, he is exactly the type of pitcher you would want if you had a staff full of young guns hitting their stride. He cost us only a 1 year less than 8 million dollar contract. Lowe fetched a multi-year at 9 per season, Pedro a multi year at 14 (lol), Benson who is marginally better than mediocre and who is often injured fetched what again?

Mets have the dumbest front office ever in the history of sports. They have set themselves up for disaster with the number of players on that team that could see viable DL time...it's ridiculous.

As far as Pedro being injured, it's obvious he wouldn't even let them exam for the alleged tear. His performance went to the shitters last year, his fastball is on a lucky day only 5 mph less than what it used to be. He defines washed-up better than Leiter.

The fact that he averaged less innings per start means that the Mets D sucked donkey balls whenever he was on the mound..

Or that he walked every other batter. But hey, ignore his nearly 1:1 K/BB ratio and that he throws morem pitches per at bat than any pitcher in baseball, he's still great.

Nice try, too bad his WHIP was a solid 1.35 last season and he threw no more pitches per at bat than Victor Zambrano and that unlike Glavine the last time he had a better than 2:1 K/BB wasn't in 2000.

But he he still sucks...

Perhaps you don't understand when I say he throws more pitches per at bat than any pitcher in baseball, that means NOBODY throws more pitches per at bat; not Victor Zambrano, not anyone, NOBODY.
