January 29, 200521 yr Brad Radke, not Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana, will be the Twins' Opening Day starter, manager Ron Gardenhire announced. Santana took the news in stride, but this is just another case of the Twins holding him back. In 2002, he wasn't even given a chance to win a bullpen spot out of spring training. In 2003, the team wouldn't let him compete for a place in the rotation. When he's been allowed to take the mound, he's been significantly more effective than Radke three years running. Although there's been talk of a three-year deal, we're guessing Santana is going to bolt at the first opportunity. He'll be eligible for free agency after 2006. Jan. 29 - 5:09 am et -rotoworld
January 29, 200521 yr even if he has an off year, I still think wherever he goes he will have success.
January 29, 200521 yr Wow, if I were Santana, I would be pissed. He deserves the opening day start over an often erratic Brad Radke.
January 29, 200521 yr he should come back to us.. 671695 He would have good numbers in youur stadium. He'd also do good in San Diego also.
January 29, 200521 yr Good think to do when you are trying to lock up a guy long-term. 671724 Really. Sometimes, certain decisions by teams just boggle my mind.
January 29, 200521 yr It's obvious why this happened. Obviously Twins promised Radke this deal when they were negotiating with him in his resigning earlier this year. They told him he'd be their #1 guy and now that have to back it up.

Santana is the future.
January 30, 200521 yr Author Let me continue your sentence... ...he is the future yankee. :notworthy 672120 No. Future Marlin. Please?
January 30, 200521 yr Gardenhire seems to have a deal with the devil, which is the only reason I can think of why Minnesota wins year after year, so I don't doubt him.
