I go with the Marlins cause we all saw what happens to the Cards great line-up when they see great pitching...THEY CHOKE.... and they Marlins have a great staff and killer Defence...i say Fish take it 4-2...

Four guys capable of putting up 40 HRs? That's just sick.

Cards

Be serious people.. Womack isnt that big of a loss. The only thing I'll miss from him is his stolen bases.. Oh yeah losing a .300 hitter with 5 homers and his 38 rbi's isnt exactly decling when Grudzielanek can do what Womack did and more (Without the SB's)..

How is Matheny (122 Games, .247 AVG, 5 HR, 50 RBI - Career High - ) to Molina (56 Games, .267 AVG, 2 HR, 16 RBI) such a huge decrease offensively? It's not like Matheny was awesome at hitting.. Molina had a higher average and is a better hitter. I wouldnt look too much into that because Molina hardly played.. I know Molina is a better hitter.

The outfield is an injury risk? We'll yea but what Sanders did last year (.260 AVG, 22 HR, 67 RBI, 21 SB), Walker did last year (W/Cardinals: .280 AVG, 11 HR, 27 RBI, 4 SB), combined with what Edmonds did last year (.301 AVG, 42 HR, 111 RBI, 8 SB) can it really be that bad? People always say Edmonds is injured but he's played almost 150 games the last 3 years.. Not bad for a person that's always injured by most.. Reggie Sanders played nearly 140 games last year.. Walker is my only concern out there but if he can be healthy I dont see why he cant do what Renteria did at least (.287 AVG, 10 HR, 72 RBI, 17 SB). I'll take my chances with this outfield offensively and defensively.

Tell me again how this offense decreased because I'm not buying it.. Unless you wanna talk about they wont steal bases as much as last year then yeah..

The defense on the other hand decreased at Catcher (Just a tad, I'm still not sold on Molina behind the plate, another year behind Matheny could have helped but the dude has a cannon of an arm) and at SS (Eckstein aint no Renteria but that's ok with Rolen over at 3rd and Rolen's range is great. ).. It's not like Womack was good at 2b.. Grudzielanek is just as good as Womack was defensively.. They are both solid at defense..

The bullpen.. Oh how crappy it's gotten.. LMAO.. You guys crack me up.. The only 2 players they lost was Steve Kline and Kiko Calero.. Haren isnt anything special although that's 3 players if you wanna say that. I've never thought too highly of Haren actually. Steve Kline will be a loss but I dont think it'll be that bad (Until Myers is in facing Righties).. Calero is the biggest loss of the team this offseason IMHO but Rick Ankiel could take his role in the bullpen (After starting for Morris) I think and excel in it. Not as deep is it was? Maybe not but it's not like it's the Cubs bullpen. Only 3 losses in the pen.. You think as much as this bullpen "decreased" that it's not gonna be good again this year. Well it will be good. Deal with it!

Should I worry about Pujols being hurt? Of course I should.. He played hurt all last year.. Imagine the sick numbers he could have if healthy.. Goodness.. He'd be god-like. But if Pujols for some reason has to sit out and he most likely wont until his leg is amputated, I have faith in John Mabry. He rejuvinated himself last year. I'm worried about this injury just as any fan of a team would be when your star is hurt.

I'm not trying to be a homer but some of the things said here were ridiculous. It's not like the Cardinals are gonna just fall off, become the Royals, and go into sucking just like that.. Another WS appearance is possible this year. They only difference between this year and last year for the Cards.. They wont win 105 games that's for sure.

And how did the Cardinals "CHOKE" if they never showed up in the World Series? Lol!

In a best of 7 series give me the Cardinals over the Marlins 4-2.

I'm not sure if that whole rant was at me but I just called it like I see it. All I said was they downgraded offensively, defensively and lost some depth in their bullpen and upgraded their rotation but are still a good team.. if that's what got you all riled up then damn, you're a loose cannon.

I hate the potential argument. Who knows what Miguel Cabrera will be doing in 5 years...so that is a dumb argument.? A guy named Ken Griffey Jr. was a hoo-in for the HOF 5 or 6 years ago, now he will squeak in.

And right now...no one in your rotation is on "pace" for the hall of fame.

Delgado isnt HOF quality either.? Hes about 160 HRs short and a glove short as well.

Woah woah woah...Delgado is "on pace" to be in the Hall of Fame, barring injury. All he needs is to average 30 HR for 5 more seasons (he'll still only be 37 by that time), and he'll get to 500.

This guy has put up monster seasons, especially in the RBI department. Stop hating.

And of course Beckett isn't on pace...But he's only 24 (?), and Roger Clemens didn't exactly jump out to a great start in his career. Give it time, man.

Delgado aint going to the HoF unless he puts up 1000OPS+ seasons at least 3 of the next 4 season. And going from a hitter-friendly to pitcher-friendly park makes that even harder.

Thankfully, our boy Leiter did his research and found out that only two of Delgado's HR would not have left the field in PPS...

Looks like that theory gets thrown out the window.

Sky Domes "scoop" helps the wind pick up the ball. In Fla's summer wet heat its like hitting a ball into a wet sticky net.

I never knew length was all that mattered.

If Delgado had all the same lengths at Coors, would you say that his numbers might not have been skewed a bit?
