Miami Marlins?

Featured Replies

As a Virginian, I wouldn't be offended if they changed the name to Miami.... I live in Virginia so any feeling of exclusion won't be amplified by such a change.

I just like the "F" and I don't want to buy a new hat. :lol

And Florida Marlins has such a good feeling when you say it.

I like the sound of Florida Marlins better, and I do live in Miami. The bottem line is that they will keep the marlins part (everyone says they are marlins fans not florida marlins fans) and if they get a new stadium it wont matter if its miami.

Those broward and palm beach fans go to dolphins games and hear them play their stupid td song which keeps saying miami dolphins #1. And that hasnt stopped them from going to games

80% of marlins fans come from broward and palm beach countys. it wold be so stpid to just rename the team the miami marlins. the new stadium so be built on the water in ft. lauderddale by the airport or port everglades.

80% is a bit extreme.

Maybe because Joe Robbie/PPS/Dolphin Stadium is basically in Broward County, and the northbound traffic is terrible in the afternoon and evening hours?

Miami Marlins :)

It is catchier and plus we have Tampa Bay...so Florida Marlins is kind of strange....Miami Marlins like the Heat and Fins would just represent Miami ;)

If changing the name is a prerequisite to getting the stadium deal done, then I say, "Get the F out!"

how about Florida Marlins of Miami?

Everyone says that the Florida sounds better, but that's because we've been saying it like that since 1993.

I'm sure they said the same thing when the A's moved to KC. You just aren't used to it.
