February 10, 200521 yr This guy was on the Today show either today or yesterday. He wanted to go over to Iraq despite all four branches of the military rejecting his request to become an active duty officer, due to all the children he has. However, he signed up for the Army Reserve, and is now being deployed to Iraq since we're stretched so thin. Personally, I think this guy's crazy, since if he dies, he leaves his wife to take care of 11 kids, mostly young ones. Even the military didn't want him to serve.

February 10, 200521 yr My guess is he wanted to be active duty military for the free housing and other free stuff that comes with living on base. Anyways, it must really suck to be the wife who has to take care of 11 kids alone. :o
February 11, 200521 yr hes being quite selfish toward his family, though he is acting like a hero in the eyes of Americans i guess. i hope it works out cuz if he dies, hes just a statistic and his family is stuck.
