February 11, 200521 yr http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/10876867.htm Does Miami have a rock station now?? The closest is 103.1 the Buzz in WPB.
February 11, 200521 yr Wow...CRAZY...Zeta doing Spanish pop.... Well you can only fault the crappy rock bands for that. I use to listen to Zeta alot when they would play AIC, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins...and then still when Nickeback, Fuel, Incubus and all those acts were the big rock acts...and then you had LP, Interpol, JEW, White Stripes.... Both what do you have now? Not to say all those bands died out, because they didn't but Zeta listeners want the newer stuff, that's where they eventually pick up on the upcoming artists... The only thing that would suck about Spanish pop is the lack of variety in that, it's all the same Carribean crap or even wannabe Carribean crap that they will more than likely play.
February 11, 200521 yr Ok, this really blows. I would listen to Zeta all the time. Grrr... no more Adam Cole for my drives back home from Max's house. Ugh... now that new station is probably gonna blow with all the reggaeton crap that's coming out.
February 11, 200521 yr Well, I can't say I'm completely distressed because it was either Zeta or BIG 106, and given the choice between the two I'd prefer my favorite radio station to stay alive personally. But it'll be sad to see Zeta go, even if I only listened for when they would play the older stuff.
February 11, 200521 yr Yea, we have Big 106 but don't they cater more to the classic rock lovers? Don't get me wrong. I love classic rock too, but I also like the new stuff. Y100 isn't going to play rock 24/7 either.
February 11, 200521 yr I expect we could see someone else pick up more rock like a Y-100 which plays a Top 40 or CHR format.

Y100 isn't going to play rock 24/7 either. 682809 Big 106 is only classic rock. That's why it rules I really only listened to Zeta every once in a while to see if they'd play a Metallica song. I have all of those in my iPod anyways, so if I'm in the mood I'll switch to my private music collection. And Y100 rock is a piece of s***. Honestly, that station is almost unbearable at this point. The rock is garbage, the rap is garbage, hell everything is garbage. This new stuff that's being called punk is nonesense.....I'm not a huge punk fan by any stretch of the imagination (it's the same thing as metal for me, I really really like one band and the rest don't really matter) but they are really destroying the remnants of the genre by calling this junk punk. Ryan Cabrera isn't punk, The Clash are punk. Ashlee Simpson or whoever else is posing today isn't punk, The Ramones are punk. That's like saying Switchfoot is metal. It doesn't work.
February 11, 200521 yr Wow this is horrible news. I am sure some station will pick up a rock format. Atleast i am in boston now where there are 5-6 rock stations. They should just have the metallica station
February 11, 200521 yr They should just have the metallica station Where do I sign? 682857 Sign on to the iTunes Store or get an XM subscription guys. Of course you could always move to Fort Myers. We have 99X and Real Rock 92.5 as Alternative Rock stations along with 96 K-Rock and 94.5 The Arrow as Classic Rock stations. B103.9 is the Top 40 here.
February 11, 200521 yr THAT F****** SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pullhair :pullhair I want my new rock back... :boo-woo
February 11, 200521 yr It totally sucks because there even isnt a comparable station. I am sure that there will be one soon. When qam started getting rid of sports, 2 others popped up and now qam is going back. Atleast I do have alot of songs on my Ipod, however it will be more difficult to hear new songs when I am in FL.

Y100 isn't going to play rock 24/7 either. 682809 Maybe Big 106 will jump on it and start including the early 90 bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, RHCP, Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins into their playlists... That would be cool.
February 11, 200521 yr How ironic would it be if the Alternative Rock format ended up on AM for a while :whistle Or if Oldies moved to AM Radio and 102.7 became Alt. Rock. Alt. Rock on AM is a safer bet.

February 11, 200521 yr that wouldnt be good, but something is better than nothing. I would say withing 2 months there is another rock station

That would be cool. 682869 I doubt it though. Big 106's following seems big enough where it'll survive just on classic rock.

February 11, 200521 yr Maybe WQAM will bite the bullet and flip 99.9 Kiss Country to Rock....I sure hope not though. Miami needs at least 1 country station.
February 11, 200521 yr Well there's 3 stations doing pretty much the same thing in Power 96, 99 Jamz, and 103.5 The Beat. You figure Power 96 has the biggest audience in the city (or at least among these three anyways), so they'll stay. Dump either 99 Jamz or 103.5 The Beat and you're set. I really don't see the point in a Spanish rock station. Who is going to listen to it? Hispanics that listen to rock will listen to established rock first off. I hated when they put Spanish rock on Zeta on Sunday nights. Older people who listen to spanish music all the time won't just suddenly jump on this rock. And most of the Hispanic youth is listening to hip hop anyways. So what is this good for unless it plays nonstop reggeaton (which wouldn't make sense if it's spanish rock).

February 11, 200521 yr Maybe not....WKIS is one of the top stations in the market. Kiss has a 2.8 share while Zeta only had a 1.6. Top station is Hot 105 and they have a 6.3.
February 11, 200521 yr Ya I hope it fails. Well they said spanish pop not rock. I agree with you the zeta en fuego thing was the worst
