Mets/Dodgers If Leiter can have a good year, we move up on this list. 685797 I pretty much agree, Mets over Dodgers though. Dodgers really don't have a proven #1 but Edwin Jackson is a beast. Astros are going to have a scary pitching staff is Pettitte can stay healthy.

Consistency can be huge.

February 15, 200521 yr You take shots at our staff for who our 5th starter is? Especially when he is very effective in Pro Player (1.55 ERA in 5 starts) and usually keeps us in most games he pitches? And again, he's our 5th starter. I'm just glad we didn't? spend 13 mil a year for 4 years on a pitcher with rapidly declining skills. 685730 Rapidly declining skills that still blow away anyone in your rotation. The Marlins have more problems beyond Valdez, their top two are injury machines and they have no 6th starter to step up, Dontrelle Willis looks like a gimmick pitcher who got figured out, and yes Ismael Valdez blows big floppy donkey dick. 685740 LMFAO... First off Pedro has serious health problems, Beckett and Burnett can and one of them more than likely will post better numbers than him next season. Check out Burnett and Beckett's WHIP last season. As far as injury prone machines, Beckett's only been sidelined because of blisters and Burnett has only had one significant injury which resulted in the TJ surgery he came back from incredibly strong. To count on Burnett blowing out his rotator cuff and Beckett losing months because of blisters on his hand....is well....stupid. Dontrelle is a gimmick pitcher that got figured out? He had a 4.02 ERA last season, and he is 22 years old you dumbass. He really imploded big there...no way that he can even regroup at that over the hill age of 22 from such a horrific season... Damn your stupidity is mind-numbing. Valdez is a fifth starter, in the context of being a fifth starter he is hardly a liability. Plus those rankings were calculated basically on an injury-free rotation for everyone. Who doesn't have injury concerns on their staff? The Cubs? The Braves? The Mets (LOL)...

February 15, 200521 yr and oh yeah, you replaced your best pitcher and rotation workhorse with a 38 year old 5 inning pitcher who is a prima donna and hates pitching in hot weather. 685748 Yep the same guy who had the lowest ERA of any starter on your team last year...

February 15, 200521 yr Braves AND Marlins are overrated. Any rotation that has Ismael Valdez has serious problems going on. As for the Braves, they're banking on John Smoltz pitching like the John Smoltz of 10 years ago, and that's probably not going to happen. 685702 You're half right On the second half. The Braves rotation is very mediocre

February 15, 200521 yr Well.. for being 'figured out', he did fine against the NL East.. Dontrelle vs. NL East last year: 7-4, 3.45 ERA, 1.28 WHIP I just think its funny when people rip Dontrelle.. the kid is only 22 years old! He's still learning! And if he uses that changeup effectively the whole year, look out.

February 15, 200521 yr I think the Marlins staff in terms of potential is in the top 3 or so but in terms of realistic pitching, we've only seen a top 10 team.

February 15, 200521 yr I really hope that this pitching staff can stay healthy and live up to its potential because they have what it takes to be maybe the best staff in the game.

The guy is a chump, not worth the roster spot. Well.. for being 'figured out', he did fine against the NL East.. Dontrelle vs. NL East last year: 7-4, 3.45 ERA, 1.28 WHIP His ERA went up .70 points, he gave up 7 more homeruns, and over 60 more hits last season. People learned how to pick up the ball from that funky-ass delivery and started smoking him. He doesn't have an overpowering fastball, doesn't have confidence in a mediocre change-up, and can't throw his slider regularly for strikes; he was bound to hit a wall once people learned how to pick up the ball, and he did.
