February 24, 200521 yr Lowell or Conine 694276[/snapback] I think Juan Pierre would make a perfect captain too.

He was called up from the minors in 1997. Anyway, welcome to the boards... Now my opinion, there wouldn't be a better choice on this team than Lowell. Conine could easily be it as well, but Lowell personifies the team the best as he is hispanic, readily speaks in both English and Spanish, is a local hero in High School and FIU sports, and is one of the best players on the team. As we all know though, Lowell wouldn't accept being Captain just for the fact of his humbleness.

February 25, 200521 yr Lowell would make a great captain, yet he needs to be more outspoken. He made several negative comments at the end of last year that would have one questioning his leadership abilities. However, he has seemingly made a turn-around after they restructured his contract. It would be great to see him step up this year and take the leadership role.
