Posted March 23, 200519 yr comment_457236 11th Circuit Court Rejects Schiavo Appeal Wednesday, March 23, 2005 TAMPA, Fla. ? The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals (search) in Atlanta has denied a request by the parents of Terri Schiavo (search) to reinsert the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube. The three-judge panel ruled 2-1 to deny the request, a day after a federal judge in Florida rejected a similar appeal. ... link This is not the end of the line. Look for more tax payer money to be used in more appeals. I think you can call this "court shopping" at this point. March 23, 200519 yr comment_457238 I guess the courts are basically saying that Terri is "owned" by her husband. Gee that's sad since he wants her dead and her family wants to help keep her alive. They raised her and loved her and took care of her growing up and they have NO say. I lost my sister to cancer and her husband was a real jerk who didn't give two craps about her either. He just wanted her DEAD ASAP. Thanks for sharing your insight. I too have some questions about the husband in this case. This is going to end up being overturned simply b/c the SC doesnt want to lose any power to congress. It has become an issue of speration of powers. However, congress did what it could and so did bush to please the social conservatives. So i nthe end the repubs will strengthen support from their social conservative base.
